I had to get up and put the bird to bed..Too tired to explain that. I may be able to turn the fuge if I reangle the sump after it's in there to kind of stick out of the other door. It's worth a try because I fear Corey is right about my stand. I have to get the canisters out of there tomorrow and try fitting the sump in. I have to go back to bed, I still have a few hours of nap time I can do before I have to leave...I will peek i just before leaving for work.
Blessings and good evening to all of you.

I remember what i was going to say, maybe the sump can be held up on an angle then the fuge put in, I am sure you will figure something out, I am sorry Flower.

Sorry??? Don't you think such a thing, you did great. I love my refugium and I'm sure we can get in in there. The refugium is the easy part...
Now I know I have to turn the sump on the side to get it through the door...but to be honest I just can't imagine it fitting...it just looks so big. I also know you said to tip it up because I have 26 inches in there but that 26 inches is floor to top and it's only 17 inches deep, so I can't get it all that far in before I have to turn it.
I can angle it up a little but getting it to turn will be a trick. I keep scratching my head the more I look at it. Reassure me please...

I think you'll be fine....As the sump is sitting on end, and as you start it in the stand, lean it towards the stand going inward and lift up to clear the bottom of the stand and then just sit it straight down. Should honestly be plenty of room.....Your second guessig yourself, and don't.....you have tons of support here!!!!!

Flower I'm under the impression that the stand doesn't sit tight against the wall? How much space do you have from the back of the stand to the wall? Is the back of the stand open as well?

The back of the stand is open with a center brace just like the front, there's pix of it on the first page of the thread. I'm pretty sure that she has just over a 7" space between the back of the stand and the wall.

Should be able to walk sump in on end tilted towards the wall and go in through the back opening an when front edge clears down and back in on it's end. It's possible taking the center brace out might be easier all the way around?!?!

Here's a picture of the back of the center brace under my 55g stand. I'm almost positive that Flowers stand is constructed in much the same way. Maybe not, but here's a shot of what mine looks like. The center brace actually supports the another support piece for underneath the middle of the tank. If she removes that with the tank full than I'm not sure if she's see any bowing at all. I want to say she'd be ok because both sides and the back center of the tank would all still be supported. And it would only be for a short time. But, I don't know for sure. What do you guys think? Perhaps if she planned on doing a large water change that day then she could do it with less water in there.
Still wanna see what happens with fitting it first.

Flower I would really really recomend not moving that center brace. I had to remove my center brace (65 gal ), to do it all water & rock was removed.Looking at the pic a few post back your stand is open at the top, mine had a wood top. if the sump will not fit on the bottom you may need to remove everything take tank off then you can slide the sump in from the top. Just remember how much weight the brace is holding. i added 4 wood screws to help where I removed my center brace.

Good morning all,
Well I had quite a little adventure this morning…
My boss said he was available early today. So I had the grand idea to have him on standby by phone, if I needed him, I was to call.

When I got home I intended to remove the 2 canister filters from under the stand and set them outside the tank to hook them up until I got the sump installed. In the middle of my little canister project..One hose came loose, water was spewing out fast, in my rush to stop it…all the hoses were zip tied together…I broke the other 3 hoses away from the pump and because of the siphon…water was everywhere!

I yanked all the tubes out of the tank to break the siphon. I lost about an inch of water off the top so it isn’t all that bad. The GFCI out lets got wet and tripped, turning off EVERYTHING..lights pumps everything. I had to wipe everything off and make sure the GFCI outlets were dry before I could turn anything back on.

Then no matter how I tried …the sump would not go into the stand…I called my boss. All that trouble to make two sections because of space…and we landed up removing the center brace.

So here it is…all under there and ready for the plumbing…I have to go back through the thread and find the spot where Corey explained what gets glued to what. I am making saltwater up and my sand should arrive tomorrow. I’m not going to bother with the canisters. I have lots of live rock, a skimmer and power heads so the tank should be fine until tomorrow..anyone disagree speak up now…
My center brace was for looks only, and it isn't even entered correctly...The door openings have different measures. How cheap.

I was so scared when the water was just flowing out of those hoses...LOL..I didn't know I could even move that fast anymore.
Corey or whoever can help me......on page 34..my white part doesn't look the same. Please advise, I don't want to glue the wrong part. This is the white part I have and its attached to the hoses..I THINK it's right, but I must be sure so I'm asking.

Yeah!!!!! That's fantastic Flower!!!!! I just sent you an email to your email. Corey sent it to me since he's tied up. It should explain what your into. I know he said there was a drawing on page 34, but he made a slight change, but hopefully the email will clear it up!!!

Holy cats thats a tight fit. thank goodness for false braces in the front. Of course had we known that brace wasnt needed they probably would have had an easier time in the design phase.
Ohh well, looks sweet!
