Okay, let us know when it comes in, and do you have a biocube or something along those lines?

Still waiting on my sand...sometime today it should be here. I WAS trying to sleep but my dogs decided to bark at everything...so I jump up to see if it is FedX...
I have an 18g refugium Al built for me that sits taller than the Sump Acrylic51 built. It has pipes that overflows into the sump which has the return pump to send the nourished water to my DT.

YES...It's HERE!!!!!!
I just loaded it in the fuge and turned on the pump to my mixing tub to fill it, It didn't need any bag, it was so wet and already had water that it hardly made a cloud at all, so I didn't bother. Are you online Al? ... here is a picture, I emptied the skimmer cup this morning.
If I do an ammonia test now and it shows no reading is it good to go or should I wait a day and test again?

thats awesome flower, what did you do with all the wires? can you take a picture of your outlet?

Are you concerned with the ones you see in the back of the refugium? Don’t be worried. I have GFCI outlets, 16 of them (but I can't get them all in a picture) in the middle of the wall on their own circuit breaker in the box...all wires must be run upward to be plugged in, so super drip loop. The Pumps are on a line to themselves with a kill switch, again plugged into a GFCI outlet and up on the wall good and high.
These are the wires you see behind the refugium

Hi Flower that is awsome - I would i think wait till the morning, just to make sure everything will be nicely settled, maybe put your PH in. Just as a matter of interest what is the pH of the water compared to your DT. Good to see sand in the fuge, you must be very happy.

All systems GO! Alright I made a call...I did it...the refugium is online.
Because of the way Corey made the hoses ..it is just a trickle wide open. And I do mean a trickle. There is no way to get a picture because I have to strain to see any water at all. I also had to use zip ties to keep the refugium hose at a certain angle or no water flowed at all. So slow is the flow you can’t even see the water come out of the tubes Shawn set backwards to prevent bubbles. It just kind of goes up over the very edges of those pipes and flows over without a bubble.
I also added extra water (about 12 cups) to the sump because the pump pushed out more water than before since less water was going into the bubble trap. All is now online and running smooth.
So officially from the date of conception September 21[sup]st 2010 to completion December 29th[/sup] 2010 I have a sump/refugium It is 4:00pm my time. all that is left to do is put my rubble rock into the fuge from the display tank.....
System shut down: Note the return water level

Complete system up and running:

You did it folks..Mission accomplished!

Excellent, Flower!!! You did it too!!!
Yeah it looks like the reason you are only getting a trickle into the fuge is because of the way the hoses ended up landing behind the stand. Much of the water is bypassing the opening on the fuge side of the drain. I pretty much had to guesstimate the best I could without being able to actually be there. Because had I been there to set it up in person then I would have hooked you up with something that woulda been a little more user friendly to use. That plumbing there is a little more like a universal design I guess I would say.
But it seems to me like you could use just a little more water going over to the fuge. And the way you do that is infact easy to do....go ahead and leave the valve on the fuge side all the way open. And then just close the valve going to the skimmer side off a little bit. The more you close off the valve going to the skimmer side then the more water will back flow over to the fuge side. You'll just have to guesstimate by eyeballing it the best ya can. As mentioned before you're looking for somewhere in the neighborhood of a 1/4 to 1/3rd of the drain water going to the fuge side. Shawn did a good job designing the fuge drains so you really shouldn't notice much water or air (hopefully) coming out of the bottom of those at all.
Edit: I just noticed that I left the hose clamps off of the bottom two hoses. I think I threw the extras in the box for whatever reason. You could probably put them on or leave them off. Those hoses are on there so tight I don't think you're going to have a problem with them leaking at all. But it's up to U...if not then keep them as extras just incase.

Flower that skimmer looks like it's rockin'. How is everything running? Any micro bubble issues? I would test and log and see what your numbers tell you!!!! Congrats on a beautiful install job....
