It is the same amount that was in there last night so it’s like a stand still.
LOL..I never had a skimmer put out more than that amount of yucky stuff in a month and never that dark and nasty. So I’m not sure of how much it is supposed to skim or how fast the cup should fill up.

It really depends on the tank itself.....I still see foam at the top.....so it must be doing something....
Just wait till you smell it

How fast should water flow into/out of the refugium? A slow trickle, good current…what? Tomorrow is the big day when I get my sand and be able to get the whole system up. I only have the live sand and some live rock rubble.
The sand is two day shipping, and it has been exposed to the cold..do I need to “cure” it before I use it? There has to be some die off..

I would say a little more than a trickle. You're looking for somewhere around a slow to medium-slow stream. About 1/4 to 1/3rd of the amount that is going to the skimmer side. If you're willing and able to cure it I say cure it.
Are you're peramiters staying steady right now?

Yes, all is well but I am having trouble with SG since I don't have my ATO running. It isn't much of a dip and rise but it isn't regular either. Water is nice and clear as crystal. The critters all seem happy. The seafan and leather colt are no better and the zoa is still slowly disappearing. All the other corals are very open and happy. Nitrates as always are at 20. I hope the refugium will fix that.
I have the spare 30g tank..I can put the sand in there with a power head for …How long? I can’t get the refugium up until the sand is ready to go in. I have a very established tank and I THINK it can handle the new sand if there is any die off of tiny critters (depends on how much dead critters) If you think it’s best to wait I will..refugiums are a whole new thing for me.
So the water needs exposed time in the refugium….I thought I had read that someplace. Thanks for all your help, I rely on you guys so much..

Hi Flower why don't you cycle your new sand in the fuge, just run a power head in it, then when it is ready just turn on the supply line, JMO
