Awesome!!!

Sounds like they're off to a great start
As for food, did the lfs mention if they were tank bred? If so~
Tank-Bred Seahorses are accustomed to frozen mysis shrimp, making them a smart alternative to their wild-caught counterparts. They will also feed upon amphipods, and other small crustaceans found in live rock. They will also accept vitamin-enriched adult brine shrimp, but should not make up a majority of their diet. They are slow, deliberate feeders and prefer two or more small feedings per day.
Take your time~ I have one 6 year old daughter and a tank of dwarf seahorses(ponies)~ 3 kids and a seahorse tank, that means you have 5 kids!

Look forward to pictures

Thank you, that was very kind to say! I will try to feed them a lil later, they are just getting settled. I usually will do my 1st feed bout 24hrs after any new arrivals and that gives them time to get used to things!
More good news, the second male, who has been laying on his side since I found them at the lfs is now UP and hitched to a rock.

Oh, that's SO good to hear!! Best of luck with them!!

The guy I got them from doesn't know SQUAT about sh's IMO. He recently branched off from another lfs to open this place and has only been open since Dec 06. When I was first there in April, he didn't even have ANY swf so what does that tell ya? He told me he has had these guys for about 6 weeks and have been moved at LEAST twice to different tanks. IMO if that itself is enuf to kill one in this shape. Like I said the tank I found them in was only 6 weeks old. He told me he has been feeding them GUPPIES and "other frozen stuff" so where does that leave us?

I do have the recently added pods and lots of the lr and I will get them smaller mysis (have giant ones) I also have baby bryne cubes and cyclopeese(sp) from when my last horses had babies. Do u think i should give either of those or live bryne? just to see if they will hunt??

Wonderful!! Congrads Seahorse Whisperer! Do you plan to name them?

Well of course silly! Even our baby corn sanke has a name. Providing they continue to improve.....still keeping everything crossed and holding my breath.
As far as names, I need to "meet" them, u know they all have different personalities!!! But I will keep everyone posted.
I guess I know what I am doing with my tank now, it has been under debate until now! LOL

Just curious, a while back someone asked me do you name all your fish?
and I told them the exact same thing you just said.

They are laying low still but the guy who was doing the worst showed a bit of interest in a mysis that floated by but didn't seem to have the energy to hunt. he has been changing spots thru the day. The other guy is still hangign out hitched to the same rock but looks at me every time I go over to talk to him (I know I'm crazy) LOL I think they just need time to recouperate. I started treating with melafix as it was recommended by our local sh guru. Wellthey have been with me 24hrs so far and they are no worse for the ware. I guess we will see what morning brings **crossing fingers**
I work tomorrow but will post as soon as I can......promise!

OMGosh how funny. When I had 1st horses "my girl" always wanted to eat hitched to my finger. They even get happy to see you, they make great lil friends.
AND both of my guys made it thru a 2nd night!!!!!!!
And both of them were checking me out when I turned the lights on.
Thinking of doing a small water change tonight when I get home....do u think that will bother(stress) should I wait another day or 2?
I feel so bad, they must have been thru SO much, u can see it in their eyes, I wish I could hug them and let them know they are safe now.

As I am rushing around like an idiot trying to leave on time, I keep looking at the babies and they not only are up and about(even the real sluggish one is following the other) they look like they are HUNTING!!!!!! Like I said I KNOW there are pods, I added about 200 10 days ago!
Ok I gotta run but I will be here for lunch later so I will check on them!!

Wonderful!!! Oh you'll know, you'll see the thanks in their eyes. They're already recognizing you

I would do the water change. I think that as been a huge part of Lisa's tank success.

Shhhh, sneaking on at work hehe......
My poor lil tank needs so much work but I will get pics up soon. They are so beautiful!
With work and the kids and the tanks phew there is hardley enough time in the day! I am off Wed so I will try to get them downloaded or uploaded whatever it is! LOL Can ya tell I'm kinda new at the computer thing?

I still haven't had a full nights sleep in ages so when the lil guy falls to sleep I usually crash with him....so much for my life as a night owl!!

no prob. How old did you say your youngest is? If you like i could give you a tip on how to get him to sleep the through the night.

He is almost 6 months!! I will gladly take any tips you have! I actually couldn't him only sleeping for an hour if he couldn't touch me so I kicked my fiance out and brought him to bed with me. So instead of getting up every hour, now we go 3-5hrs between nursing sessions ugh!
