I really don't want to crunch the numbers. So far less than a grand and it might not be even close.

Today marks week 2 of my cycle. Ammonia is down to zero as of today in my dt and qt is barely showing. Trites are also very low, less than 1. Nitrates hanging around 5. Diatoms on the sand are going away and rock is looking pretty good. A few days ago I witnessed nitrate converting into nitrogen (?) as bubbles were releasing from my sand. Haven't seen it lately.
I got a few more magnets and used silicone this time and they are in the tank. So much better with the magnets.
Since I'm cycling my qt with lr I've got a lot of crap on the bottom and in/on the pvc. The filter sponges in my whisper filter are pretty nasty. Is there anything I can do about it? I figure I'd wait until the cycle has completed but I'll have to shake out at least one of the 2 sponges in there. Should I put a new sponge in my dt to catch some bene-bacteria?

It's not what you guys think. I've only charted ammonia and trites but I'll post it later today.

As of yesterday I have hundreds of pods all over my glass. They are very very small right now but things are looking good.
Still fighting my QT to keep it clean. I've got a lot of dirt/debris all over the place. I'm afraid to mess with the sponges in my filter so I think I'm going to get another filter today to run with it and I'll use some carbon. I didn't test my water at all this weekend so I'm interested to see what my results will be today.

I wish I would have never cycled my qt with lr. It's a mess. I just bought another $15 filter and am using the carbon cartridge in that one. Alright more filtration!!! I stirred up the water a bit and will leave the rest until it has fully cycled.
Help me figure this out. What should I do with the rock in my qt when I add my clowns? I have no desire for the rock in my DT and I could add it to my sump which has about 4 pieces already. Can I leave it to serve as biofilter? If I need to hypo to rid ich the bacteria in the rock should be okay. What do you think?
Thanks

Ha ha ha. Here's a little icing on the cake for you. The green is actually "granny smith apple" and the blue is "cornflower."

I've got pods in both DT and QT and I like it. I put a carbon filter in one of my filters on my QT and it has helped but not as much as I thought. I've got a lot of what looks like dirt still suspended in my QT. Not sure what to do but I'm going to continue to monitor.
