how to get a cleaner tank

Don't get me wrong folks, I'm all for banter. I think Meowzer and I have caused a little havoc back in the day. Along with a few others.
I think the carbon is a good addition. I agree with 2Quills about not placing it in between the baffles. That could turn out real bad.
Have you tried re-positioning your PHs yet?

No, not yet. I'm going to the store tomorrow or Wednesday to pick up 2 possibly 4
PHs. two for each side of the tank one at the top and one at the bottom. Not heavy powerheads just Korilia 2's or something like that. If I want a Hippo Tang, I'm going to need more flow than I have right now based on what I've read.

The only line you need to remember is :
"Curse you Aqua Scum!"
And you have to throw your hands up in the air when you say it.
Your tank should be fine for Dory. I have seen these fish not only get Ich, but also HLLD. The more i researched them, the more I am glad I cannot have one in my tank. I hope that the one you get works out well for you.

Depending on how many feeds you have going back into your DT. Buy some large fine mesh fish nets get someone to help you and hold the nets in front of the feeds back into your DT to catch the matter before it disperses

Are you guys serious?
After the "Curse you aquascum!" line from minosaur

come on people!
I'm going to give you a few minutes to yourselves :)

Actually Sparty, the way it works, see the little red bar in the lower middle? that thing actuallt shoots a two way lazer out of it, that scans for any kind of scum and it also takes the Temp and PH readings at the same time, then it reports (actually talks to you) about the temperture and the PH. this all happens every 15 minutes and takes about 3 seconds to perform the test.

Cost is 15 bucks if you get it on regular DVD or 25 on blu-ray.
The name of the product pictured is the aquascum 2000
the name of the Movie is Finding Nemo (and yes, this is an amazing investment, especially if you have kids)
