i'm glad my ammo finally went down to 0. but my big problem now is the nitrates. i'm gonna do 5g WC tonight, and see what happens.
still not counting 3 weeks, there's still ich on the hippo tang. my clownfish, however, got torn fins. the "end fins" is torned at least half way. will it fix by itself? or probably regrow?
As long as water quality is good and you are feeding a varied and nutritious diet loaded with vitamines the clown should heal. Any idea where the torn fins came from? Anyone picking on him? To get the nitrates down just do water changes and make up your water at 1.009. It sounds like you are doing well so far. I am glad to hear your other fish are doing well. Keep an eye on that hippo.

that i don't know...my guess is the puffer. i am pushing this thought out of my mind, but i think i really should let go of the puffer. i went to my lfs and ask them if i could trade my puffer for another fish and they said ok to it. would it be a good idea to put a new fish in the tank while on hypo? i mean, i'm kinda scared of the puffer eating all of my fish....

Well if your lfs will take him back then ask him to hold the credit for a few weeks untill you are done with hypo. You can't introduce a fish into a hypo'd tank. The salinity is too low. Unless you are going to acclimate him for a few days. If the guy at the lfs is willing to take back the puffer chances are he will hold your fish of choice or at least give you credit untill you are ready to put fish back in.

I wouldn't realy use a bag, that is going to be small and uncomfortable. Do you have anyone else that can house him for you? If not can you set up a temporary tank for this fish untill your other tank is back up from hypo? You should always qt your fish anyway to prevent these disease outbreaks anyway. I am sure you don't want to do this all over again. A qt doesn't have to be fancy. A tank (can be 10 or 20 gallons) a heater/thermometer, something to hide in like a piece of pvc pipe and a filter are all that is needed.

yeah...i'm thinking all of these things and definitely doesn't want to do this again! yeah, i have the kit, 10g, complete with everything. only, have no space for it. esp now, we're moving in a month or two. but just in case, if i would set it up and use the water from my MT as its water, how long will it take before it will be ok to put the fish in? coz, i also thought, maybe i shld just hypo the hippo alone, i don't know what to do with her anymore. she's not losing any ich on her body. actually, it looks like she's getting more of it!

need help on this one:
i think my clown has brookynella. it's not covering him yet, just his belly side under him, near the two fins. i'm sure it's not cotton-like. i checked the pictures at the faq, and there confirmed that it could be it. so what should i do? DT is still in hypo... :help:

What are you using to measure salinity? And can you post some clear pictures of the ich?

Does your refractometer read exactly 1.009 specific gravity and 14ppt salinity?? Are you checking it daily? Did you calibrate the refractometer?

i didn't calibrate it myself. i'm checking it probably 3 to 4 x a day. do i need to use another medication just as to get them off of my fishes? today is worse than yesterday.... but i dont want ot use stop parasite anymore. anything else?

The refact needs to be calibrated. Why don't you? Its pretty easy.
You can not add medicines to your display tank. Copper and hyposalinity are the only viable treatments for ich, and copper is OUT for adding to a display.

You left your LR in when you did hypo??? Very bad. That is probably why you have ammonia and nitrite readings. Things are probably dieing on your rock. This doesn't help with the ich issue, but if there are measurable amounts of ammonia and nitrite then your fish are stressed and unable to fight off the ich themselves. A more nutritious and varied diet will also help out here.
