Another question about Iraq, I know we're staying in there to build up their government, but we're basicly sitting ducks. Why don't we spread out or forces in search for terrorist training camps and stuff. One problem I got with the war in Iraq is most of our troops are in Iraq instead of searching for the actual terrorist group that planned 9/11. We do have some, but why not send more troops to that mission? I want to hear the republican pro-war awnser so I thought I'd ask it here.

Where do you want them to search? We're in Afghanistan, we're providing military support in SE Asia, we're supplying military intel to Pakistan (and have offered military support but they have declined. Pres. Musharraf is not powerful enough to overtly accept a US military presence).
Iran and Syria are issues; as well as N. Korea.

The way I look at it the radicals the terrorists recruit hate us anyway so why not exterminate the terrorists so the radicals aren't a threat?

Leveling that area would be great short term, but it would get Musharraf overthrown. Remember, Pakistan is a nuclear power. If he gets overthrown bad things occur.

I know we are doing are best and searching everywhere, I just thought maybe a little more effort to search from the source may help.

Remember they found us pretty well on 9-11.

What? Of course they did, they attacked us on our ground. Now where in the battlefield, it seems like it has whole different circumstances.

Oh, I know. Same deal with Iran right now. If there is a way we can avoid blowing the snot out of them we will be much better long term.

My government teacher last year talked about rock and roll being a communist plot, the battle between democrats and republicans a battle between good and evil, and he talked about his teenage glory days protesting at an abortion clinic. My 7th grade science teacher was just as bad and buys only a certain gasoline because it is from south america and he doesn't buy muslim gasoline. I haven't heard one good thing from them like isn't a beautiful day, did you hear the new bill they passed isn't it great!

I could not let this statement go by. No offense but I am not buying this for a second. Unless you are going to private school, the ACLU would be beating down the doors to take those teachers away.

BTW everyone, FoxNews just had another in depth coverage and will have more coverage on the O'Reilly Factor about what is going on with Miss New Jersey and should she keep her crown. WHY IS THIS NEWS!!!! I really wish they would stay away from these stupid stories.

Actually, I went to Sam Houston State, I studied economics, most of my profesors were conservatives. Yeah I had a few out there in left field. But they were the phyc teachers or sociology teachers. They were clueless anyway, I had conservative teachers, and they backed up with fact every opinion they expresses and then produced an opposing opinion and the arguments for them as well. It was really interesting.

Yep it's a private school I believe is basicly owned by the Baptist church. It also used to be a church, the sanctuary is our autorium and they added a lot on.

Yes, the circumstance are way different. The terrorists know where to hide. Heck, they are so darn smart, they could be hiding in the same town as you. They are cunning and evil and think that what they are doing, killing innocent people, is for God. The battlefield is EVERYWHERE. Where do you propose the military goes that they haven't been?

Yes, all these topics are connected because of the media. And how they cover all these topics and more.
And please remember my aunt doesn't say "birthday", she says "birfday". Yes, it sounds silly, but she's not stupid and she lives in Texas.

Anyone hear about how there are two terrorist groups called Al Quida? The one we're facing is a different one than the ones that attacked us. Also anyone hear about the Iraqi police officers having a gunfight with US forces? I will find the link, it was in the New York Times and I heard it from a friend so I'll search for it and get it up here.

Al Qeada does in fact claim the terrorists in Iraq as their own. Not sure how much direct contact they reallly have with each other. Contrary to what you might read in the news Al Qaeda is nowhere close to the same strength they were when they hit us in the late 90's and 2001, Still plenty dangerous just the same

That's not really true.
Certain cells are affiliated with different branches of Islam (sunni versus the shiites).
Several of Bin Laden's top buddies have been caught and killed in Iraq so clearly they are the same.
No, didn't hear about the gunfight. Wouldn't be surprised though to hear that the "police" were terrorists disguised as police officers.

God rest her soul but why was it that we needed 24 hour coverage of Anna Nicole Smith? Or Natalie Holloway??? Enough already! This isn't news.
Unfortunately, Fox is the closest thing to a conservative broadcast on tv. CNN does have a couple of good programs like Glen Beck and Lou Dobbs though.

You forgot my favorite CNN program....."Robin & Company!!!" Whew...

A U.S. warplane made a strike during the raid in mainly Shi'ite east Baghdad after U.S. soldiers came under "heavy and accurate" gunfire from a police checkpoint, rooftops and a church, the military said in a statement.
Seven suspected militants were also killed during the clash, in which U.S. soldiers detained an Iraqi police lieutenant on suspicion of planning roadside bomb and mortar attacks on U.S. forces. The military accused him of links with Iranians accused by Washington of fomenting violence in Iraq.
"When they (U.S. forces) went to arrest this lieutenant, some of the police who were with him began firing on our folks," Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of U.S. military's Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters in Washington.
"That turned those individuals into enemy and legitimate folks for our troops to take on in combat."
U.S. commanders say elements of the police are infiltrated by sectarian militia, making it harder to restore security and ease tension between majority Shi'ite and minority Sunni Arabs.
