I wish OBAMA would wear an American Flag pin (at least)

Stupid, idiot, dummy, coke head, drunk, Bu$h, Bushitler, Shrub, DUI Bush, Chimp, Moron, Liar, War Criminal etc.
Cry me a river. Some of Bush's posture and mannerisms do make him look like a chimp, thus you get this

But when a women called in to Limbaughs show and said her daughter said Obama looked like curious george Limbaugh had to appologize for it. I call BS. Obama does look like a chimp cause of the way his ears stick out. Why is it OK to call Bush a chimp and not Obama?
Because of its racial insensitivity... The comparison has a long historical significance and he should have used better judgement.. There is nothing wrong with the comparison itself... but when you add in the historical context you know it is wrong... just like other words that by themselves are okay but when you relate them to people ... they have different interpretations.. The words you used above are based on his character...

First off, the post referring in slang to an ethnic group was removed as soon as it was seen. Anytime you see a derogatory comment made feel free to pm Mods. We will remove them and warn the poster.
As I said, I respect the Senate. I do not respect each of the Senators. I will never respect a man who will not vote to abolish partial birth abortions, for example. Nor will I ever respect a man who offers to take a girl home after a party, drives off a bridge, leaves her body in the car, and goes to bed instead of attempting to get her help.
I would vote against both Foley and Craig. Foley was booted from the Republican Party, and Craig was told not to cancel his resignation.
I never
condone "degrading" anyone, nor do I degrade other posters, nor do we allow it. Threads that do both are removed. Again, feel free to use the PM feature if you feel their is a controversial thread. I get multiple PM's daily and address each one before I post anything. I'm sorry that you were offended. Please understand that we Mods do not work for SWF. We are all volunteers that participate in the forums, try to assist fellow hobbyists, and take care of any major issues on the forums. My participating in political discussions should not reflect badly on SWF in any way.
You don't have to respect the person, but you should respect the office they hold.

Hillary Clinton threw him under the bus yesterday.
Imagine a video clip this fall of Hillary saying "I have a lifetime of experience, Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience. Barrak Obama gave a speech"

I cannot believe she said that.
They all have a lifetime of experience... if Hilary were to win.. she would need Obama as her VP to win, otherwise I think it would go to McCain.. I don't like her politics and I am unsure if I would vote for her... What I don't get is ... she was a 1st lady... to me...this isn't experience in the way she would describe it... 2nd she used the popularity of her husband to win the Senate. I don't think she is a self made politician... which doesn't do anything for me ... yea he gave a speech.. but he has done a lot more and I respect the way he has worked to get to become a presidential candidate in a short time ... this is one of the reasons why I believe in his message... he is exactly what his message is.. I mean if you think about it if he can translate his life into the presidency ... I see a very bright future because against all odds he has succeeded up to this point and done things no one else would imagine.

Still waiting for quotes backing this up...
for the record, however, I hope you understand the Biblical importance of "Israel" versus Africa, Australia, or any other geographical location.

As a Catholic, all I will say to Mr. Hagee is: you know who the first Catholic was, don't you? That's right, Mr. Hagee, think about it...

Wow Rylan, I was so utterly swamped by the citations you presented in your response, you lost me... "I may have read somewhere that somebody did something at some time, or may have said something to somebody else, maybe. But I know what I'm talking about, so take my posts seriously!"

OK, then... I hereby put the SWF community on notice: You will refrain from using the terms, "Saltine, Ritz, Club, or Oyster." This is necessary due to the historical significance of the term, "Cracker." Be advised.

If I called someone here a saltine... then what would they think? They would think I was making a racist statement... it doesn't matter if I wasn't or meant something else... People should use better judgement, especially someone who speaks to millions of people on a national level. There is a higher standard than what is in this thread or even most people.

Africa is also thought of as having human significance because many believe this to be the "birthplace" if you will of man. Different places are significant to different people for various reasons....
“Most readers will be shocked by the clear record of history linking Adolf Hitler and the Roman Catholic Church in a conspiracy to exterminate the Jews.” - Jerusalem Countdown (revised edition, 2007, p. 114
During the same September 18, 2006, edition of National Public Radio's Fresh Air, Hagee also discussed Islam, stating that "those who live by the Qur'an have a scriptural mandate to kill Christians and Jews
On the September 18, 2006, edition of National Public Radio's Fresh Air, Hagee stated that Hurricane Katrina was an act of God, punishing New Orleans for "a level of sin that was offensive to God". He specifically referred to a "homosexual parade" that was held on the date the hurricane struck and that this was proof "of the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans
Various other degrading comments on the Catholic Church include: "the great whore" "false cult system" and "the apostate church" -Hagee has written about the Roman Catholic Church in his book Jerusalem Countdown:

No, Africa is thought to be the birthplace of humans according to some anthropologic geneticists. Not many other religions or cultures other than those endemic to the continent hold Africa in reverence.

In 2000, Obama said he need to be on Capitol Hill a while before considering the oval office. Eight years, wow, must be a fast learner.

Rylan,
You ready to call Mr. Obama a socialist yet?
What does he mean when he says "I will end the war."
1.) Retreat/ pull out/give up, the enemy wins
2.) An even bigger surge, destroying the enemy.
3.) Use of Nukes to destroy the enemy.

It doesn't matter ... just like other religions or agnostics don't hold Israel in reverence.

I don't think remaining in Iraq will solve the problem of al Qaeda and terrorism. I think we should seek them out all over the world ... I think what he is saying is that al Qaeda is a threat... he will end the war as we know it, but continue to be offensive against them... You got to admit that we have to bring our troops home... We have many potenial crisises in the near future... We also have a struggling economy that can't support the war as its been...and handle our domestic issues. I don't think pulling out is retreating.. they have not won... but at some point we need to leave... and what is winning... Define that... Because once we leave... there is will still be opposition to the Shite lead gov't by Sunnis and Kurds (I may have these in wrong order) al Qaeda will still be in the region, they will also still be a threat.. we need to go after the top leaders and 'cut the head off of the body' we need to work with foreign gov't's and go after them in Africa, SE Asia, Afganistan/Pakistan, and where ever else they may be. If we continue to stay there... it will continue to be a target of recruited fighters and further fuel recruitment.

There is a way to win against a fanatic foe. We did it in the Pacific against the Japanese in WWII. Now they are allies. We may be able to do the same, as the situation is similar.
What is that way to victory? Meet force with overwhelming force. We lost that direction in Korea, and threw it out in Viet Nam. Now, we forget the hard won lessons of Viet Nam.
1.) Never give up land won in battle
2.) Never tell your enemy where you won't go ( Laos, Cambodia and the HCM trail)
3.) If your enemy is willing to hide among, and blend in with the civilians you have 2 choices: bleed you troops weeding them out, or bleed the innocents weeding them out. If you choose the former, that makes for unpopular war at home with high casualties on your side. In the latter, innocent lives are lost, and morale among the troops and at home falls. Your only hope is the innocents become sick enough of dying they turn over your enemy( some of which is happening in Iraq now. As CIC, you chose one course and stick with it.
How many times must history repeat itself before our leaders learn?
Are current events in the former Yugoslavia region, similar to the events leadin up to WWI?
War is bad, I've met combat vets, WWII, Korea, Nam. I have an idea what its like. Losing a war is worse. I'm sure Sgt Mike Strank rests well on Iwo Jima knowing we won.
We still occupy S Korea, Japan and Europe 50-60 years later. That seems to have worked well.
I do not want to see soldiers die in vain.

Ok. JM, I must admit, I did say I would not return to your site. But, I must say, I find this site very intriguing. Like I said, I can blow off the routine poster, for all I know these guys are on crack or living in a Limbaugh world. You and I both know there are freaks everywhere. Really, my street was closed a few days ago because some freak is dying in Vegas (feel free to google search >Riverton-Utah-Ricin).
But, I cannot figure out the business motive behind your alienation of me and all the other "liberals". I do feel other sites want drama. It increases their hit count so their sponsors feel many are seeing their ads. So, they get money to pay their contributors (Me! I cannot believe I get paid to write about a hobby I love! Really,I love this stuff so I wrote like 4 pages here for free!). But, I do not see ads here. All I see is a home page begging me to buy stuff.
Weird thing is, I was going to try them!
I am actually a consumer SWF wants, I think. I love newbies, but they buy stuff for a bit, then they quit. The dedicated, obsessed hobbyists are the ones SWF wants to attract, IMO. I buy crap every month. I have a few choices so why would I choose SWF?
That is why I cannot figure out why you would bait me, alienate me and try to call me out. My answer to your question you feel is unacceptable. I feel your answer about America giving handouts is unacceptable. But, I respected your opinion (nowhere near fact). I feel the same respect should be allotted to me.
So, your site has chosen to cater to the right wing consumer? This just seems weird, because I can't see why you can't have all consumers. You know your site, and it must be working for you.
I know you can't answer this, because you "are a volunteer" that just hangs out here with the moderator button ready at your discretion.

My problem is a "liberal" today, is not the liberal of 40-50 years ago. Today liberals tend to hate America, and are not proud of our country. One representative even refuses to say the Pledge of Alligiance. Today's liberal is a socialist bordering on communism. That is the direct opposite of the intents of the Founding Fathers, and unconstitutional.
I respect your liberal beliefs,;however, I feel they are wrong, and ignore the history of this country ( if you are a "today liberal"). I have tried to point out historical fact whenever I make a point. I try not to attack someone, and I definitely do not hate anyone because they think differently than me.
Threats to not purchase from this or any site because we disagree are juvenile, and do not support your point well.

Link. Show me one congressman or senator that will not state the pledge.
My discussion about about being a swf consumer is between their representative and I. Feel free to express you opinion, though.

So because we posters don't meet Suzy's stardards of respect for her candidate she will pack up her toys and go away. There goes the board
