Do you think I even need one for a 10g because I'm getting a refug and its only a 10g? I'm getting mixed opinoins and just wondering.

I don't know what other people are suggesting, because I didn't read your whole thread, but if you add a cleaner shrimp, that should also add some activity to your tank... I did it with my 9 gal, and I found myself watching them more than my clowns. Every SW tank I'll ever own will at least have a pair in it. Just added two to my 20g just now, and the picasso's fell in love with the skunk cleaners within seconds. Love at first site. Other than that, I really like your rockwork. You could also sit on getting fish for a while, till you make up your mind for sure, and add corals. I did that, so I got a feel how the tank was turning out, then added a fish that I thought would fit in with the feeling. And idk why I haven't been watching this thread, your tank's pretty cool.

yeah I was deff going to get a cleaner and a fire shrimp. The rock work has just been changed because I bought another 4 lbs and moved everything around. I thought it looked to plain before
.
Do you know anything about the two protein skimmers I asked about? Which would you go with if any of them?

I just messed up my cycle forsure haha I bought 4 more lbs of LR and then did some redecorating. Oh wellz! But apparently the LR is fully cured, got a nice piece covered in coraline (if its the algea thats purple and gets as hard as the rock.) the new rock should have tons of critters on it if I didnt kill them while redecorating because it was full of wierd looking floating things haha if that makes any sence
(wasnt as plain as the other rock I had.)
Also I asked about the cheato and they said they do have it it was just in the back room. And they told me if I were to ask for specific things it has to be on some order list (no idea what he was talking about, dont think he was to experienced in SW) but it sounded like it was a no.

I have no clue about protein skimmers, other than I'm using the one that came with my nano wave 9 in my homemade fuge for my 20gal long. Sorry. Maybe check the equipment section on the forums to get some info.

You probably didn't mess up the cycle that much. How long has the other rock been in there again? And if it's actually precured, it actually might help speed up the process. But I don't care about it really, cause I just wait till all levels are 0, and then add whatever, regardless of time.

The tank has been set up since april 25th all levels were at zero except the ammonia which was 0.25 did one water change in that time but it didnt do anything for the ammonia and the saltinity is at 1.025-1.026 with evap.
See I think it messed up the cycle because I adgitated the sand bed. But oh well I rather wait acouple more weeks then have rockwork that I didnt like all that much. With this new rockwork I see tons of places I can put the corals I want in. I'll take a pic of it when it clears up a little. BTW this is my first SW tank so if you monitor this thread I'd appreciate that because I need all the help I can get=)

No problem, and yeah. I'm already subscribed. well, seems like your cycle is JUST starting off, and it's only in the first stages, so I would think you didn't mess up your cycle at all. I would actually think you helped it. More rock you have, gives you the ability to have more bacteria in there breaking down the ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates. And stirring up the sand a little prob didn't hurt anything as well. You're still good my friend
