I use tape....LOL...The background is nice (for fw), but it will take away from what you are doing...you want to show your corals and fish..you don't want to show the fake background, and that's what you will notice first.

Well I was hoping to fill the tank with corals so that you wouldnt really see the background. But yeah I get what your saying, PLus the black will bring out the colour. How does that coral glue work to glue your corals to the rock? do you have to take the rock out of the tank before glueing or can iu just put clue on the bottom of the coral base and put it into the water and attach it to the rock?

I have been using aquamend...a lot of people use super glue gel...never seems to work for me....I don't take rock out...I wipe it off...maybe with a small brush to get loose stuff off, dry the bottom of coral..attach the aquament to coral..and place the coral where I want it...hopefully it sticks.....sometimes it doesn't...

you put glue on the bottom of the piece you're gluing to the rock, then put it in water to form like this bubble, then you squish it to the rock. you'll get what I'm talking about when you start messing with it for yourself

Test results are pretty much the same:
Ammonia - 0.25 (a little higher then before)
Nitrate - 0
Nitrite - 0
pH - 8.0

ammonia - green mountain dew
Nitrate - Almost clear
Nitrite - same colour
Guessing nitrate and nitrie is zero because those are the only colours that match on the chart.
and the test kit is marine lab

first, your ammonia is gonna spike from things dying and the like. They'll decompose first into ammonia. Then, the bacteria that feed off ammonia will start to grow in population, and convert it to nitrite. nitrites will rise, and then the bacteria that feed on nitrites will start to rise in population. Then they'll convert that to nitrates, which will start to rise. then nitirate bacteria start to rise in population. as each population rises, the levels of testable chemicals will go down. your system doesn't actually have no ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates, but rather the ammount being produced, matching the ammount being used up by the bacteria. that make sense?

IDK what marine lab is....When do you go to your lfs next? Just to be sure why don't you take some water to have it tested...a 2nd opinion never hurts
