You do not really need a metal halide....look for a good t5ho light set up

I want to have sps.. and its a 20g tall.

t5 can penetrate a 20T. you have to keep your parameters stable

The new lights would be for a 20g tank. Not the tank I have now. It'll be a while untill I set that up since I have cichlids in it that seem to be doing amazing lol.
 
 
I should havthe pictures of the different algaes and the mysterious brown algae/bnacteria that is killing my corals soon.

tank seems to be exploading with coraline on a good note.

That's hair algae......I get it on my PH's too...I just pick it off

It looks so much bushier then hair algae and alot more green.. One part feels like a nice soft carpet.
 
The other pics are having trouble uploading. But I know I got some turff algae growing on one of the rocks.

also the pest algaes dont like flow... Thats why we keep water movement ect.

hair algae will live on powerheads. it looks like a type of hair algae. definately not macro algae.

looks so perdy on the power heads though lol. Ive had this stuff growing on them since day one with no problems. I guess its time to clean them up!

LOL...I have freakin Kenya Tree growing off of my power heads......I told my notsolfs in Texas that if I come down there in 2 weeks, I am bringing him a bunch of it

Can cyano be orangy brown???? I'm thinking its cyano now.. it brushes off so easily so i dont think its a algae.

You have a nutrient issue. That's feeding the algae and, why your coraline is growing at an increased rate.

So I think I have spoted a sundial snail tonight. Bad thing is, when I went to grab it out of the tank my cleaner shrimp jumped on my hand and scared the **** out of me and I dropped the snail and lost it!
 
It was an off white colour kind of flat and had markings a little darker liike a zebra print. It was also very very tiny (a little smaller than the tip of a car key).
 
Do they eat all corals or just zoas? Why is all this crap appearing now!!
