haha, so I have amphipods and copods growing in my tank, all my inverts have molted (except snails) and my 1 fish has gone missing with no ammonia spikes.
Tanks going good!! haha
Hopefully the supplies get here soon so I can get the algae out of my water and test for phosphates!
and if all goes well 7 cerith snails and 1 emerald crab? I read the emeralds can nip at your corals?

I think there is always the possibility of just about anything nipping corals....I have Emeralds, angels and such....and thank goodness (knocking on wood) none of them nip at anything.

this is true, anything can happen since we dont fully understand the creatures of the sea:O
what would you chopose for my tank if it was yours and you were in the same possition as me(being new and all) out of this list of corals.
bubble coral!
sun coral
duncan
torch coral
frog spawn
red and blue mushrooms
pulsing xzena(spelling?)
zoos
plate coral
some sort of brain coral

To start...hmmm...I love xenia, but it doesn't love me..LOL....can't seem to keep it in the 225, but I do have 2 small bunches in the 54
I think zoos and mushrooms are the easiest out of the bunch to care for.
Frogspawn should be okay too
I definitely want a plate one of these days...and the torch's are neat
LOL...am I helping????
OK...IMO start with either xenia, zoos or mushrooms.....let your tank get a little more mature before you add anything that is a medium care item...ALSO you need to fix the algae issue first.

oh yeah I know. Just dreaming of what my tank could look like in the future.
What about a bubble coral? I think there pretty cool also.
xzena, torch, FS will that be to many stinging corals? Well not includint the xzena but they grow like weeds and might grow into one of the stinging corals, since its only a 10g tank.

IDK...My Xenia doesn't grow like weeds :(
You will be limited cause of size, BUT you can put FS on one side on a rock....and a torch on the other on the bottom...

Does that placement sound good?
Then have the zoos and shrooms near the top rocks to fill space.
then maybe a bubble coral if thingsdont grow to large.
Or should I switch the FS wil the xenia placment? Since FS needs more lighting then the xenia I believe.

Yeah I was thinking the FS may need to be higher...
ALSO, Bubble corals have long sweeper tentacles...so they need quite a bit of space away from everything.
Plate and torch look good BUT BUT BUT I DO NOT KNOW if there will be compatibility issues. I am not sure if in a small tank you can combine all of them....

even if I mantain a distance(trim them when they get to close for comfort)? I thought compatibility issues were just who stings who.

Thanks! i'm new to keeping corals and stuff, but i'm learning alot from the people here. (mostly cuz i butt into everyones convos!) i did keep a fish only tank a few years ago until my porcupine puffer started a mass killing! it was sad

MEL....Have you ever looked at your bubble at night to see how long the tentacles get?
KAT: Can you trim them like plants???? LOL...

yeah i looked at it for a long time last night and they seem to reach as far as the bubbles reach. it would be easier to find out if the stupid arrow crab would stay away from it!
as soon as my big tank is up he's going straight in!!!

LOL...My bubbles tentacles only get about 1/4" the reason I asked you is cause I have heard they can get much longer...

goodness i hope not! i know when the stupid crab stays away they seem to really try and reach out, but not much farther than the bubbles get when he's really happy. i still keep him away from everything else. (jsut in case)
