What is that long thing coming from the FS....or is it something going into it??
My FS...does not have "feeler" tentacles like that
My Candy cane doesn't "close" up either....I wonder if there are different types???

hmm well I know it wasnt my eyes but I saw the candy cane close up around the food. Now its open and looks a little bigger and what not. Even in the FS pic you can see the candy cane coral closed.
That string is comming from the FS's mouth. Thats what I was talking about lasttime when I fed it, and you thought it could be poop. But it seems like it catches food floating around then dissapears. Its only comes out when I spot feed it also.

LOL...I'm not saying your candy cane didn't close up...I was just saying mine never does, and then wondering if there are different types of candy canes....I'll have to read up some on them (later)
And the FS is probably releasing what it doesn't want, or waste...

The candy cane that I have is a green candy cane coral. I think theonbly difference between them are their colours.
Have you tried to put a chunk of food on this mouth? They how mine closed up around it. Never saw it close before though, untill lastnight. Maybe it liked the food to much and didnt want it to float away!

LOL...yes I have tried....In the morning, when I feed the tank...the little mouth opens up, but anytime I have ever tried to place food on it...it does not try to grab it....
I have seen pics of candy canes that vary from mine...some candy canes have lots of tentacles too

I want to buy another fish, and a star fish. I like the red scooter blenny's and the red sea star. But would they be okay in my tank??? If not what are some suggestions?

IDK....starfish are very hard....The only one I have had any luck with is the chocolate chip.....Although I have not tried a sandsifter since my tank has "matured"....
I have a scooter in my 54g....I am not sure what the size requirements are...you'd have to look it up

I heard the C.C star's are hard to keep haha! Your tanks backwards lol you cant keep easy things like feather dusters but you can keep the hard animals haha.
I think the red scooter needs 20g min and it needs tons of LR so I dont think I can have one =( I want another fish that is a bottom dweller though. I like the scooters because I love watching them scoot around the sand at the LFS.
I want a wierd/cool looking fish, like the dragonites or w.e lots of fins ect. Something that doesnt look like your typical fish.
And for the star I think I'd have to wait a little longer for the tank to get more mature? Since they eat the little critters running around the sand beds and tank(I think)?
and your candy cane looks nothing like mine! haha but still very pretty. Is it pink? or is that because of the camera?

I think the LTP is about to kick the bucket. the tenticles are all closed up tightly and I see stringy stuff comming out of its mouth, and wraping around the plate. Looks like stingers or something.

Could be pooping, could be expelling it's symbiotic algae (bleaching). Keep an eye on it for a few days. Have you been feeding it? Even if it does bleach and go down to nothing but the hard skeleton, sometimes they will come back so if you can keep from removing it leave it in there.

Yeah I started to feed it twice a week. I feed it my home made food with brin and mysis chopped once again so its finer. I havent moved it either. It might be nothing since the tenticles were extended this morning and it just recently closed up. It usually only closes up like this at night time.
I guess I'll leave it alone and wait and see!
