My personal opinion could be summed up by a great Ice-T lyric, 'Don't hate the player, hate the game.' If there wasn't a market big enough for ESPN to profit from airing that hour long Lebron decision, trust me, ESPN wouldn't air it. If anyone doesn't like how much sports stars are making, or how much ticket prices are, just stop going. The laws of economy certainly apply very well to sports.

I don't "hate" LeBron, he seems a nice enough guy, but enough is enough. Don't we have bigger problems? What about the salary double standard where it's "ok" for celebs and sports stars to make millions, but a CEO, corporation or physician can't. If I have a nice house, I'm and evil rich doctor in today's world, yet someone like Lebron whose car costs more than my house is worshiped as "King James"?
Seems we're just about where Rome was with our modern gladiators just before the fall.
Not LeBron's fault, but ours?..... Something to think about.
I think there is perhaps some "LeBron is one of us" mentality. Those people who vitrify CEO's don't see themselves/their children (more specifically) ever becoming CEOs. But it's quite easy to hope that your son's a sports great. There is also a lot of "lotto" mentality, and hitting the jackpot and becoming a sports star (which isn't exactly true).

You keep sticking your foot in your mouth. It takes twice the stamina to play a 90 minute soccer match than it does four quarters of basketball. I'd love to see ANY basketball player try to manipulate a soccer ball with their head and feet like professional soccer players do. Anyone can walk onto a basketball court and shoot a ball through the hoop. Ever see the stats of a soccer player? You think they're all just little 5 foot runts? Most goalies are between 6'2" and 6'5" in height. Like I said before, there's a Mexico player that can run up to 20MPH. If him and Lebron started at the end line of a basketball court and ran to the opposite end goal, the soccer player would be standing under the basket taking a granny shot before Lebron hit the mid-court line.
What in the world are we arguing? Every sport requires a specialized set of skills. It's plainly obvious that no 7 foot 300lb giant can dance around a soccer field for 90 minutes. Speed? Starting at the goalline of a [real] football field, I bet Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans could get to the 50yd line before that "20mph" soccer play gets to the 35. I'd like to see the biggest soccer player stop a Dwight Howard drive to the hole, or take an elbow to the head from Superman.
I'd like to see [insert athlete here] take a shot over the top from Polamalu, after reaching up for a high pass, and not have their heads ripped off.
