Shaq still plays professional basket ball? lol, I thought he'd retired years ago...
So let me get this straight, ESPN is doing a show where Lebron will announce what team he goes to? Now that is just funny.
They say he's supposed to announce his decision in the first 10 minutes of the "show". So what are they going to do for the remaining 50 minutes? Analyze why he's going where he says he's going? Let him gloat how whoever he picks will win the championship next season because he's on the team now? What if he says he's going back to Cleveland? What do they talk about then? I'd rather suffer through an episode of the Bachelorette, or worse yet, Kate Plus Eight before watching this crap.

I would have done it in the middle and given plenty of time for the guy with the perfect afro and the yeller to spend time going through all his options and weight in on what they think. (oh wait that is what they've been doing for the last month...

Jordan never won without Pippen.
Thats fair, and Scottie was a fantastic HOF player, and was 1st team All NBA both years Jordan was playing baseball....Difference is Scottie never won a title without MJ....Wade already has won a title, albeit with Shaq. I promise you, if Lebron goes to the Heat, the fact that MJ pulled the Bulls out of the duldroms to 6 titles, and Lebron abandoned Cleveland to go play with Wade will always hang over his legacy like a very dark cloud.

Reports now are saying James is heading to Miami. Unfortunately, that means we'll have to hear MiaHtLvr toot his horn the entire basketball season about how great 'his' team will dominate the league.

Negative. Miami will still be the 3rd ranked Eastern Conference team

Scottie never had a shaq. Wade would not have done it without shaq...But I can agree with the rest of this statement.

The bigger story should be...who is going to stop LA? There are no players or teams on the same caliber as them in the west now....Looks like we will see the lakers in the finals for the next 3 years easily.

Lakers will still be the team to beat even if Bron goes to Miami....I think Portland and Oklahoma City the teams on the rise, Portland had an astronomical number of games missed this year due to injury, the question is can they stay healthy for a season.

And we should care? Wait for it... Wait for it... I give MiaHtLvr a day before we see the new post. Maybe I should change my avatar that shows the Spurs FOUR Championship trophies to counter Miami's measly ONE. He's probably hanging out at his local Academy Sports waiting for the new T-Shirts to arrive. That, or he's camping out waiting for the new season ticket sales to start. Can we say Price Increase?
The next question will be -- who will get to be the last one out onto the court at the start of the game? Every home team I've seen has their Big Starter/Major Draw come out last onto the court. I say this becomes another Kobe/Shaq Ego controversy.
Maybe we should start a poll as to what they'll say:
Miami Triple Threat
The Heat Is On! LebronWadeBosh is Comin' At Ya!

Season tickets were sold out by mid-afternoon today. There were only a few $6,000 packages left, and those quickly disappeared.

You sure, Florida doesn't have a state income tax, and doesn't have governors talking about how they're gonna tax the rich... The taxes are million dollars of a difference...

That's a shocker. The only flaw in Miami's plan is they maxed out their salary cap on three players. The other nine will be a bunch of nobody's who normally ride the pine for any other team. They won't be getting many quality players when they can only offer them the minimum. Hope the Heat can win a game with Three against Five.

I think when I am in Vegas in November I'll see what odds I can get on Miami not willing the Championship this season. Expectations are going to be high but it will take these guys at least a season to get the chemistry going.
As far as a supporting cast there are plenty of talented people who will sign a short term contract for less money if they think it will get them a ring. Then they can go on the market coming off a championship team and make up the dough.

I will say this much about Lebron, in a few ways he did what we want our "Superstars" to do.
a. he took less money to go to a better chance to win
b. he did put his ego aside for a better chance at winning...In New York, Chicago, Cleveland, he would have been THE man, in Miami he certainly shares the spotlight with Wade big time.
As far as being desloyal to his home town and the people of Cleveland, who cares. Cleveland is on the short list of places I would least like to live in the country. I'm from Seattle, my family lives in Seattle, I live in Phoenix because I like it better here. Nobody can fault him for wanting to live in Miami instead Cleveland.
I will certainly root against Miami as I have always disliked Lebron, but certainly don't fault him for going to Miami.

Yeah, the whole 1 hour "me" special really put the ego aside.

You guys are kind of missing the point. imo the NBA does something different than any other league, people almost follow the stars more than the teams... And this fits right in. Professional sports needs promotion. These guys make most of their money off of self-promotion. (well at least the huge names like tiger, Lebron, MJ you know the top 1 or 2 guys from the league) So all this hubub surrounding this, is exactly what the NBA wants and needs. Plus it turns into a revenue generating mechanism for the team, the player (who donated alot of last nights revenue to the boys and girls club not counting the screen time that charity got) Basketball season is over, and what are we doing talking basketball, (and even more amazing you have me talking basketball which is a testament to the success this firestorm)
