I will prob. go ahead and get them. Surely there is someone on this site who has kept anthias successfully, and are just not replying. So, we'll see how it goes. :)

Sorry Meowzer, I worked yesterday, and crashed last night. Anyway, I placed an order for the dispar anthias x3, a yellow tang, and a flame angel
. I am finally gonna try one. Hopefully the little flame does not nip at corals. I am gonna qt all these, and will experiment with him and zoas, etc to test. Also, I have requested that the seller send info on what they feed the anthias, so i can get whatever it is lol. SO.......PICS TOMORROW......SOOO EXCITED!!!!

Well, everyone arrived. After being in qt for 30min now, I finally got a good look at the anthias. They sent me two males and one female LOL. they have been fighting nonstop. Called and complained, but they said that they should be fine once I get them into the 180. I dont believe this to be the case. I wanted one male and two females. How dumb are they to send me two males!! I mean, come on! So, unless the local store will buy one male, he will be living in the 10g until I can find a home for him elsewhere.

Finally, they have stopped fighting, and are all three hanging/swimming together with only a little nudge here and there lol. Oh, the little flame is about 1-1 1/2 in and is sooo cute! I cant get a good pic yet, but will keep trying. He or she is constantly moving, its funny because I saw it literally bump noses with the yellow tang who is approx 3 times his size. :)

Well, good news. the anthias are out swimming with each other and they ate frozen mysis and brine! Never even hesitated at it. And no more aggression at this point. So, everyone has been fed and are looking good. There is a very small white spot on the flame angels tail that I will keep tabs on, hopefully it isnt ick, but thats what QT is for I guess. If no signs of illness, all these fish will be introduced to the 180 in about a week or so.

Here ya go Meowzer. Not the best pic. They look 10 times better in person. All in all, I really like them and think that they were a good choice

Thanks. At times, there bodies are darker orange, and there fins too. I think its the light, but they tend to look different each time I examine them LOL. But they will be a nice contrasting color against the blue/green chromis, yellow tangs, and the clowns. Just hope they do well. :)

Well, happy to report that everyone still looks good and are eating. The anthias eat frozen mysis, or brine. So, my concern was unnecessary. Plan is to introduce the anthias first into the 180 in about two-three more days. I am only qting them for a week, and if no signs of ick, etc, they will be transferred. I have to say that they are well worth the effort. So, meowzer, if your reading this, I wouldnt give up on them, go and try some of these! :)

Well, the anthias are doing great. No signs of disease, etc. Think that it would be ok to transfer them to the 180 today or tomorrow? They have been in QT for 5 days today, I know the bare minimum is 10, but I am getting impatient. LOL. opinions?

Well, I introduced the three anthias today. It was successful. No aggression from anyone. And they look really nice under metal halides v/s t5's.
