Well, todays tests are complete. Amm-0, nitrite-0, nitrate-20. I believe it is time to start up the refugium! It is a large cpr aquafuge. Chaeto and sand on hand, guess I got work to do..BTW, in my 75g my female clown is acting really weird.. She didn't eat tonight and she is constantly swimming around the tank as if she is looking for something. And she even went to the anemone, which she has never done before...Think she is going to lay eggs??? (Remember that I added a male a few months ago)...Hope nothing is wrong with her...everyone else in the tank are fine...and my tests are all zero.

Thanks Meowzer, I am glad it's coming along too. Good news, I got the clown to eat some flakes. She totally ignored the mysis. Now she is hanging at the top right corner of the tank. I havent introduced anything to this tank for a long time, and have done nothing different, so I cant imagine that she is sick with something. Esp. when the other fish look fine, even the male clown. So, I guess I will watch her closely for now.

Ok update. Female clown is back to her old self. Still cant figure out what she was doing, but oh well. Now..on to the 180g.....should I add a fish from the 75, maybe both clowns??
Or should I start adding my coral? Maybe a few shrooms? or zoas??? I have never changed tanks before, so some info from someone who has would be nice..........anyone??

Have you added any cuc yet? Are you buying new cuc or adding from the 75? I'd start with some cuc

p.s. I have never moved one tank to another either

Yesterday, I added 10 dwarf blue legged hermit crabs. There is no algae in this tank, but I thought that they could feed off the live rock. When I notice more algae, in with the snails. Yes I have several to add from the 75. So, I think I will go ahead and add some shrooms and zoas...BTW, I love the shimmer of the metal halides! :) But I will be getting the 14k Phoenix...these bulbs are too yellow..

Yeah....I hated the 10k's...and I LOVE the Phoenix 14k

Sounds like a good plan to me....move stuff slowly I guess

Well, I added some zoas, rics, and my hammer over a few days. Today I added three green chromis. My levels are still zero except for nitrates, they remain 15. So, we will see how they do.

Well, everything is doing good. All numbers are zero now. Had a cyano outbreak to deal with...ugh :(. Only have a few more pieces of coral to add then the fish. But I wanted some advice first. My yellow tang is approx 5-6in. and is a terror! I understand they can get aggressive in smaller tanks and consider the whole thing its territory. But in this 180 I am going to add a sailfin and a powder brown. I will try to add the tangs at once to keep any aggression down, so that one cannot claim this tank as his own, so they will be the last additions. My question is this... Should the new tangs be close to the same size as the yellow? Or will it matter? I was going to order medium size which is about 2 1/2 in. Anyone done this before? Thanks.

Well, no matter cause..........here they are...........and acting like best friends already. I just didn't add the yellow in yet...Comments? Or has everyone around here expired due to boredom/inactivity?

Well let's face it you have no slouches in there that's for sure. They are all getting along well so far? The pictures look nice and clean. Have a recent FTS?

Thanks Meowzer. And no Henry, I dont have a fts at the moment, but once I get everything in its permanent place, I will take one for you. And yes, these two tangs are getting along great, they swim around together. and I just fed the tank, and no aggression at all. My problem will arise once I put my yellow tang in with them. I didnt realize he was so big until I looked at these guys, and he is an aggressive fish. I am hoping it will change once I put him in a larger environment.

Well most aggressive fish are supposed to go in last by all current wisdom on the matter. The only problem you may have is between the yellow and the sailfin as they have pretty common body structures.

Yeah, and my yellow is about 5-6 in. and a brute. His name is Tiny...hahahaha
I thought that I would add him after these guys and hoping the new environment would throw him off. I believe he thought the whole 75g was his territory and anything I tried to add, he attacked. If he goes for these two, I dont know what I am gonna do. It will be hard to catch him, but he will be the one to go and be replaced with a smaller yellow. My husband only wanted one fish and ofcourse it was a yellow tang.

That's funny cause my yellow is the tame one in my tank....the sailfin and blue hippo are very "outgoing"......if I out a coral in there w/o gluing it down....they pick it up and throw it
