So it was a bad wire......How did you narrow it down.
the one led that was attached to it was not working right......so he just took it apart and re-did it....and it worked
p.s....Danny is still not 100% sure that this other D driver is good LOL, remember we have the "P" now

Well when you tested it....it lit up.....turned the lights on it did not.....turned them off.....they did the blink (like all the others do)
All I know is they work now after the driver was changed and he re-worked that led's wires

Sounds like a cold solder point. If it tests well with the LED Tester.

Glad I read this, i'm in the process of my led build and was going to add moonlights for my 75 gallon, I was going to use 4 but after reading this I think i'm going to stick with just 2 :t^:

A lot of people seem pretty hell bent on using high powered leds for moonlight. Thats why id mentioned that i only plan to use 1w leds myself. Seems like a lot of folks actually like to use it almost more like a supplimental light for viewing in the evening. To me thats not what moonlight is.

+1
When I was running moonlights (don't need them now, I get plenty of light "leakage" from my HOB 'fuge light), I used a little 1w 2 bulb module and it was more than plenty. I gave the tank a believable "moonlight" look.

WELL.....for some reason this is what we got....LOL....9 moonlights
IDK ...and I don't recall that it was disputed.....and it really doesn't matter LOL
NOT SURE we are going to re-work the lgiht just yet......as long as we can keep the setting where it's at, it may be ok

I remember

And no it wasn't really disputed much. We knew it was going to be bright. I think you were originally thinking of 6 with the ability to dim. But we had to do at least 8 to use the dimmable driver. But we ended up going with 9 to keep the count even across all the top openings on the tank. Figured it would be bright but wasn't sure how bad it would be when dimmed all the way down.
The unfortunate thing is you're not going to be able to use anything less than 8 with the driver you're currently running. The driver requires a minimum amount of voltage to be used in order to even turn the leds on.
Options: Ditch these moonlights. Maybe make another small build for one of your other tanks out of it.
Get a smaller driver that will allow you to run less of the high power leds.
Or get yourself some manufactured 1w leds.

I had no clue that we could not use the driver with less moonlights......HMMMMMM.....something to think about I guess....
