Might need to rethink that cruel and unusual punishment thing

Back to the topic at hand since some people drove this train off the tracks.
All I hve to say is this. Anyone willing to give a pass to someone because they were "wired wrong" or had some horrendous act done to themselves at a younger, needs to have their own head examined. Last I checked we are all capable of making sound decisions based off the laws in this country. Point blank. Regardless of moral ethics or what not, the bottomline is the law of the land. So for scottnlisa to give a "wired wrong" defense just shows you are willing to look past the horrendous action. If the perpetrators were mentally challenged/retarded, I would possibly bvuy this argument. But that is not the case. With the facts given you automatically jumped to the defense of the perpetrators in this crime. You as an individual are what is wrong with the justice system in this country. Those

[hr]
could have been gangr@ped by pigs and geekos as children and it would not excuse this behavior.

Noone gave anyone a pass, the origional argument was about the parents being held responsible for the childrens actions. If you give the parents a pass, as some suggested, then your what's wrong with this justice system because their child ruined many lives because they failed as parents and didn't keep a closer eye on her. MOSTLIKELY, the jury is still out on that. But when someone suggested the parents need to be held responsible, someone piped up and said the 15 year old and the others were the only ones responsible because 15 year olds are sneaky and do what they want and are out of control.

In other words, hang the perpetrators and the parents if they are found negligent in this case.

My father worked his whole life for a defense contractor, designing radar systems for fighter planes and helicopters. If it werent for the republicans and military spending we wouldnt have eaten.
But, I am also 100% in favor of a woman's right to choose and while not a gun control freak, have some opinions on the need for private citizens to own machine guns...
So, I guess that depending on the topic in question it can seem that I lean to either side.
This is too funny. your right Republicans LOVE to spend money the government doesn't have. What was the debt when bonehead Bush left office?

At least they would rather spend it on the war machine than something that might take care of our sick and elderly. Kill instead of heal.

Parents shouldn't be held responsible but at the same time the children shouldn't be held responsible. The part of the brain that is for judement calls and common sense isn't fully developed. Like it or not it is true.

well, I wasn't going to high jack the thread any more than I already had. But seriously? You want to talk about deficit spending? (Never mind that Obama voted for the budgets that got passed the last 2 years anyway) But Obama is making bush's indiscretions look like t-ball. It isn't even close.

Good thing a private citizen hasn't been able to own a machine gun since 1934.

Sure why not, it makes him look that much better when he fixes it. I don't really know how anyone can argue a side to politics, it is so corrupt and unreasonable.

That is how it works in general, If a reasonable person could conclude the parent should have known they are responsable for their kid's actions which seems fair to me.

Scottnlisa, where are you coming up with all these gems of wisdom that you perceive to be true? First it was "facts are facts", um, where are the facts, not just your opinions? Now we have the like it or not it's true......please. So humor me, in your world, who is responsible? A baby was raped, oh, believe me, everyone in that room knew it was wrong and should spend the rest of their lives paying for it, as will that baby, played over and over in her head.
This is the problem with the legal system, too many misguided people arguing "facts" according to them and giving these monsters "excuses" for bad behavior.
Give me a few minutes as I am tending to my kids but I will come back with actual black and white facts, first and foremost how many --- offenders reoffend, especially in the case of pedophiles. Regardless of the cause, they are dangerous and should always be dealt with keeping that in mind.

Give me a break. I think you are reading what you want to read. You seem to be on your own little plain anyhow.
"Of released --- offenders who allegedly committed another --- crime, 40% perpetrated the new offense within a year or less from their prison discharge."

Keep on being fascinated, I think that was your word while more children are tramatized for life and get to see their perpetrators face to face because people like you want to give them an out. They are damaged, that's a given or else they wouldn't have stripped and raped a second grader. Who cares how they got that way, they chose their path and now they have to face the reprecussions. They deserve the same degree of sympathy that they gave the little girl.
Do you have children?

You have lost all credibility with this statement.
Bush deficit, 400,000,000
Obama deficit first year 1,850,000,000
The CBO estimates based on Obama's current budgets....that his budget deficits will go no lower than 650,000,000 in any given year of his presidency.
Now do us a favor and go cuddle a s3x offender. After all, they need a hug too.

Well lets organize and march and round us up some of these punks and give em a good old fashion mob burial. Lets be the judge jury and executioner. No need for a trial, bottom line, THEY DESERVE TO DIE, NO EXCUSES. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

How much did the bush war on saddam hussein cost? oops I mean terror. If bush had another 4 years in office after this mess he has left everything in, how much do you think he would have to spend to try and get out of it?

I think you two should invite the little darlings over for a sleepover with your kids. After all, they ARE victims and deserve love and leniency in order to make them "all better".

Why does it matter, the bottomline is even with the cost of the war, his deficit is 400,000,000. You guys love to bring up the war....Yet, wait, The Osiah has ramped up Afghanistan almost tripling the troops there. With only a 10% reduction in troops in Iraq....Oh yeah, Iraq is mostly stable now.....wait...that was before Obama........So hmmmmmmmmmmm.
Nice try...Your guy ran on cutting the deficit by half at the end of his term...well that should be easy, considering he tripled it his first year....meaning he can leave with a 900,000,000 deficit and still keep his word.....But your OK with that.
Over the course of the last 7 years, the Iraq war has cost a total of 704 billion dollars......Gee, even without the war your boy would still hve tripled the deficit.

Who said no trial? There you go making up "facts". we were just commenting on the punishment. No one said to not give a trial.
