This is why I made mention of my hair getting caught in them. It's never broken them, but it does get them clogged if I don't stay on top of it.

Yea I can understand your surpise; however they provide a number of abilities that almost all other powerheads are deficient in. They are basically miniature wave makers in themselves, and as such they have all the issues associated with powerheads and wave makers combined. Don't fret on it, alot of people have had issues with MP powerheads and alot have vocally voiced their opinions. They are virtually a new technology and they have their flaws. The good thing is that the customer service is great and they will help you out. I have no doubt. Throw them a call and It wouldn't surprise me a bit if they replaced the powerhead. Don't worry about it. Everything will be alright.

Eco tech is a great company and should be able to help here. The star may have, because of its size and leg girth, bent the shaft just enough to cause your problem. Got a wobble now that shows up at the higher speeds. Do not give up on this piece of equipment. The are incredible pumps and well worth the money you spend on them IMO.

mine gets clogged with lots of chaeto once in awhile, but it does require maintenance, and i usually blow away any snails that come near it just in case they might jam in it

WELL apparently customer service is by e-mail I called and left my phone # and e-mail address, and have been contacted via e-mail....sigh
He told me to run the PH wi th just the dry side to see if it made the noise...I did that....It did not (I already know it is the wet side) ANYWAY.....when I put the wet side back on it would not run at all

...after a little tapping....I got it to run....still can only run at a little over half speed....His last communication was asking me if I got any error codes (colors on the dial) NO, I have not
I am waiting for my next e-mail......I think I am just going to ask if they will send me a new wet side, and I will then send this one back and they can test it....

UPDATE: The few things he had me try did not work, so I opted to use the exchange option for the wetside. I had to order a new wetside, it will come with a prepaid label. AFTER they receive it, and examine it...my CC will be credited. I could have sent the whole thing back and not paid anything....BUT I did not want to be w/o a PH for that long.
SOOOOO....the wait for the new one begins

That stinks... Did they say how long it will take for you to get the new wet side?

Just make sure you adjust the dry side to the right thickness of the glass. I had a similar problem with my MP's.
And also make sure the wet and dry side are aligned exactly.

NOPe...no clue how long, BUT the one I have now is running, so I will just switch them out
and Tanner...my glass thickness required nothing.....and you know when it is not aligned..HAHA....sounds like an airplane

SOOOOO if it continues working fine....I may just keep the new wet side as a spare.....I have to think about it....it was only $65....

UPDATE: I received the new wetside today.....as soon as I took it out of the box I could tell teh difference....the propeller assy is so much tighter in the new one where the "other" one has a lot of "play" to it
We changed it out, and it is working GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALTHO I am a little confused what to send back....I got a pre-paid envelope and it says ONLY to put a few pieces in it......NO magnet or propeller....I also received a return address label for fed exp....NOWHERE does it say what for.....LOL....SO I will call them tomorrow....I want to make sure they get everything they need so I get my full credit

I ordered the 2nd one....today is the first 80 degree+ day in OK and it is HOT in this room....tanks are over 80............window a/c unit goes in tomorrow
it's 75 everywhere but here....this room is 85

bet taking 3 PH's out will help too........
