Flower- I bought that small maroon that was pictured earlier to put in the 24gal. I also bought more live rock for it, and the clown seems to be very happy. He is hosting his powerhead and swims around a lot and is living just fine. No, I didn't release that water from the bags into my tank. I never do that. The reason I would suspect that the tank may have had copper in it even though it was sold as new, was because that same LFS screwed me on a chiller that I bought new from him. I bought this nano set up, then realized I needed a chiller and he said "oh I'll order it and it'll be great.. I'll get you a good deal." Well he got it all right and it made the most god aweful noise ever and it was heard through out my ENTIRE house. Even walls and rooms away. I took it back and insisted it was busted and he said it wasn't (The thermometer display was broken too). So I have to buy another chiller (a jbj) and it was the same HP, less money and works better. Now I am out a chiller and I have a tank that only supports some life.
That is why I freaked out... but long story short, I don't go to that LFS anymore. I hope they go out of business.
Kat- Thanks for saying it looked good...Just to be clear, 90% of those pics were of my 45 gal, not the new nano.
Just because a chiller was broken doen't mean it wasn't new. So copper shouldn't be an issue. Why do you feel you need a chiller? Some fish, like sea horses do require cooler temps, but most reef fish and coral like the warmer temps.
