Just some pic's of the LR i got over the weekend, I didn't "arrange" them yet. Just kinda thru them in, i still don't know where I am going to put the other shelves. I tested the water last nit and got a little ammonia .25 and nitrate 5.0 ph is 8.4 nitrite 0 . The urchins were hitchhikkers.

also have a small colony of what I think are cloves , but I couldnt' get a good pic. I will try later

try putting the LR under the shelves ,your not putting frags on it anyway. Right? I would do a little research on the urchins most are not reef safe.

the LR will go under so I have room on the shelves for frag's, Like I said this is not a show tank. The only reason I have the LR is for the bio-benifit. I can't wait to put some frag's in there, i have some really nice shroom's waiting in my nano.

Subie - I know , the kid at the LFS saw them and wanted to take them out, I told him just shut up and leave em there, they were sleeping

Flboy - sorry I schould ahve used a few of these , , / / / - - actually the ph is 8.4
Joebob - yea I am going to do some reading tonite, hopfully they will be ok, Blazin has a black one in his tank, i asked the same question but he said they are reef safe. But just to be x-tra safe I will google it!

hey nwdyr, Nice looking urchins. Did they just come along on the lr ? The urchin i did was just like that. Small like a dime and now its like size of my fist. Suck a cool creature. And that pistol shrimp i beleive is a Tiger Pistol Shrimp, Nice hitchhiker, Get you a goby in there and they will pair up. And also that snapping sound is probably the pistol shrimp, I hear mine making popping noises all the time. Its normal. They do it if something get near them or anything like that.

yea both of them or all three of them were hikkers, I wonder how long it will take for that shrimp to grow? he is really tiny right now!

what is the name of the city inside of joliet not affiliated...rockmart or something???...i am lookin forward to comin back up and checkin out that LFS

The light is a 250w MH. I am lookinf forward to doing hard as well as softies, i will finally have enough power to do all corals

just checked on line again and it still says it will be in tomorrow

I think it is rockdale... I am not from here I just moved here about 1yr ago,but I believe it is Rockdale. Just off I80 & Larkin

I don't go bar hopping anymore, waste of time, but good entertainment.

I still haven't seen anything in the LR I picked up, but I also haven't been looking... usually in bed by the time all the lights are out.

You always stay on top of those hitch hikers though, so kudos to you! Maybe I should have sent my rock to you and let you inspect it and then send it back critter free.

yippy ya whooooooo the light is on, I will take a pic of the tank tomorrow. Sorry can't do it now for 2 reason's, one i am going to the boat and running waaaay late cuz I was messin with the light, and 2 because I need to hang the light from the ceiling. I have it clamped to the top of the tank but the arms don't have the adj. I need, it seems like it is either too close to the top of the tank or just a little to high nad it kinda shines in you'r eyes when you are in front of the tank. So the pic's would not be good until I get it hung right. I can take pic's inside the tank and at least you can see the "look" of the bad a&^ 250w MH light! I love it, of course you prob. won't be able to tell as good in a pic, but it really looks like natural sunlight!!! i even had some what I thought were clove hitchhikkers on a piece of LR, well about 10 min after the light went on, yepper they were out and proud, and there is allot of them!!! all in all I got allot of cool freebies on this rock! I am really sorry , no pic's today..I feel like staying home and just looking at my tank and taking pic's!! but I can't I am meeting people and I NEVER GO OUT anymore so I think I need to get out!! really it's been like3 months since I have been out, wow thats sad
ok really I gotta run now they just called and they are on their way and I still gotta shower
