Barry, I am glad to hear your father is doing much better. Once he is on the transplant list, hopefully he will not have to wait very long for a match.

Hi Barry, I just came across this thread. There wasn't a recent update, but did want to say I will be praying for your family. My mom is in the hospital with much of the same conditions, but only had to be in for a about three days. She is supposed to come home tomorrow.

Thanks for the prayers, really appreciate it.
And Barry, I hope you don't feel I tried to hijack your thread. I just thought it was one of those signs for encouragement to find someone else going through a similar situation. Who knew I would find encouragement on the swf board...He works in mysterious ways. That is great your dad is doing well!!

No worries. Glad I had the thread going so you could recieve prayers too.
Thanks to all that are praying for our families.

My dad had a colonoscopy(sp) yesterday as the final check before getting on the transplant list. Found two polyps and removed them with no problems. Barry

Barry, I don't know how in the world I had missed this post before. I am so sorry that your family has had to deal with all of this stress and worry. I thought this was a new thread when I opened it and felt so terrible. I have said a prayer for your father and your whole family. I was relieved to find out that this is an older thread and that your father is doing so much better! I will keep you all in my prayers and pray for a successful transplant for him. All the best to you and your family!

Yes I'm glad too and to keep prayers going for you and others who also needed them. Sorry to hear about the polyps...but that's great the removal went well. Prayers go out for a suitable match soon. Someone sent me a story about the verse Malachi 3:3. Not sure if its ok to put the story here, but I found it to be quite powerful. I'd be happy to send it to anyone.

thanks
praying for those in need of prayers.
My story of the power of prayer begins with my brother's car accident. It was bad. Head on at 55mph. He was on his way to my house when it happened. When I was notified I began the 2 hour drive to the hospital he was flown to. I was a little over an hour into the trip that seemed to be taking forever when I decided to pray that God watch over my little brother and take care of him. When I reached the hospital he had already died. My first response was of anger that I didn't get there to see him first. Then it hit me like a train. I asked what time he died. 8:05pm they told me. It was exactly 8:05 when I said my prayer. It wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I said it, but an incredible calm came over me when I realized what had happened. Then I wept.
God answers prayers.
