Well I havent decided on the chromis. I have a while to decide. In the meantime, Im thinking about setting up a 20gal mantis shrimp tank. I went to Wildwood NJ for 2 days and im going to Ocean City MD for 3 days tomorrow. Came home today because I have to feed the axolotls. No one in the family would dare touch the blackworms and I cant use an automatic feeder with live blackworms. Do you think it would be better to have 3x chromis or 5x chromis (depending on tankmates of course)? Ive heard that a bigger school depleats agression. Thats IF I decide to get some, of course. Thanks everyone! I didnt realize I was dealing with sibling rivalry also.

Ok, so after some searching, if I buy everything new, its going to be about $1105 to start the tank before livestock and without sand or rock (I know, rock is crazy expensive.) So, not too bad. Thought I would share, I know, not really important to anyone else though.

It is bad? Or the rock is crazy expensive? Im not sure what youre referring to. lol. Ill edit the original post at the top to show the prices of everything.

with that kind of lighting u have to place the xenia and tourch coral at the top of the tank.

it sounds really cool cant wait for some pics

Why the G1X for $282?
You can get a new ASM G3 skimmer for $290. Just shop around online...it's there.

= O I didnt even think about the filter with thte LR, LS, and protein skimmer! I thought I didnt need one if I had al that, I guess it couldnt hurt though. I have a Rena Filstar Xp4 laying around that I had running on my 55 that I could use if I need to. Its rated for tanks up to 265g, so it should work wonderfully. Im going to have a hard time fitting it under my tank, though, already having a 20g sump. The thing is at least 10x10x24H Id say. Its relatively massive.

Actually with that T-5 set up they may want to hide from the brightness .My 6 bulb is plenty bright to keep a Torch down low in the tank...He is buying the 8.. The Torch would be fine even at the bottom....... As to Xenia those weeds will grow about anywhere..........

Well good morning all! Not really anymore, but I wanted to share the morning Ive seen the past week:

Im back and the new total is $1069 before anything living. Is that still high? I cant seem to find much of anywhere that sells any of the items cheaper. And when I do, shipping still brings it back up.

Thanks alot. I was in Wildwood NJ monday and tuesday, came back wednesday to feed the axolotls, went back to Ocean City, MD where the 12 pictures were taken to make the one panoramic until last night.
So Ocan City, MD. I edited out a million birds and people and some dust spots. Took me almost 3 hours. You dont want to see the original.

I hear about them from time to time on here about feeding the mandarins. Is this the only thing they are for? Is it good to have them? I was thinking about putting them in the fuge with the cheato if they are something good to have in the tank even if you dont have a mandarin?
