True enough, so post and update the list
, certainly the information offered by the older ones has not become obsolete.

Yes but in my opinion new books expound upon fundamentals already in place. If the hobbyist cannot afford to buy every new book that comes out they can at least go to the library and avail themselves of good basic foundation material from any books available

Not to me, but the basic message that Joe is trying to get across here, and that the original thread from a year and a half ago was conveing are the same, "avail yourself of some of the knowledge available in books." I was simply teasing Joe about the redundency of posts
- which was part of his theme.
Are you saying there is nothing useful to be gained from reading through old posts, or that there is nothing useful to be gained by reading older books, or that old post are insignificant, and convey nothing of current value?

Wasn't saying the other books are no longer useful.

Did not that person already have ICH in the tank also? So the tank had ich, he was going to remove the rock and sand from it and use the tank and the water as a QT.
That is of course if I read it correctly.

I have these two books in my side pocket of my car door. They are always with me. When I get out the car to go into a LFS they come with me to see if they are compatiable with what I have. I think these two books are awesome. Small enough to carrier but dont get me wrong when I say small cause its a thick book.

Two of my favorite books to use as quick reference books.
My biggest mistake was listening to a LFS (closed now) without doing any research. I had to make a lot of tank modifications once I started my research. Plus my neighbor helped a lot once he found out that I got a tank. He had been keeping a reef tank for many years already and he pointed me to the saltwater forums. I know there is still a lot to learn and I like to research things just for the benefit of knowing. Every aspect of this hobby still fascinates me but I just couldn’t enter the hobby until my income could support it. Plus I am also a bookworm and I have read my books many times. I just enjoy reading everything about the sea.
