Are you talking about pet conn. on five mile? If so, dont believe a word they tell you.
BTW . . . moving day is coming up on the LS

Hey Justin,
No it was actually "ocean and sea's" in roseville. I haven't been to pet connection in awhile. Have you had many problems with pet connection? I've never really spoke with anyone there, and only picked up one fish from them so far.

The list goes on and on. . . . . there are a couple people there that are truly interested in keeping my tank alive and well, but it took a years worth of shopping there to get to that point. Then there are others that are merely out to make a buck, and others that don't know which end is up. I bought a dozen snails from there about a month ago, and I have been in there enough for them to know that I am not some moron who cant take care of their tank. I acclimated the snails over the course of about three hours. all 12 snails dead within three days, and not to predation. I went in there with the shells, and they looked at me and said "well, we have some more snails right over here . . . . would you like to purchase some more?" Need less to say, the only reason I go there now is for RO water.
where is oceans and seas?

Don't worry the mandarin will be going into my 55.Just trying to fatten him a bit, he was starving at the lfs,he's very, very tiny.I'll be adding one blue/purple shroom and that's it,I think:)

Looking good! can't wait to see the sun coral open. I have put a couple shrooms and polyps in mine but am having problems gettting them to attach. Will post pics when they do!

Have you tried letting the shroom attach to your sandbed? it kinda forms a crust and is easier to then superglue it to a rock or rubble w/out it sliming up so much.
Anyway, Pm me at -- ..I'm really not here too much anymore. Thanks again;)

Hey Justin,
Well I guess I'll be cautious if I ever pick something up from there again. What all lfs's do you normally go to?
Oceans and Seas -Take 696 east from Novi, to Gratiot in Roseville, go south probally a 1/2 mile, and its on your right. Its decent, some people there are knowledgeable, but theres quite always something not right with something there. Be careful.
Tropicorium, have you been there? Its down in brownstown about 30 minutes south on 275. One of the largest coral propagation and fish breeding farms around. Just watch out, until they know you well, they work on commission and be wary of stray monitors!!!
Prues's in Lansing is "really" nice, just ridiculously expensive!
Theres a few other decent ones around, have you tried the place on 15 mile and Ryan? I can't recall the name but they have a 600 gallon display reef, and alot of coral.

Hi, Sun corals require lots of feeding and perfect water quality....I don't know how you plan to do this is something smaller than gallon milk jug! You need them in a tank with a good skimmer. My skimmer holds as much water as this little tank. They are made to keep a single fighting fish or a guppy, not delicate marine life! Lesley

Yeah, I have seen tropicorium. What do you mean monitors? But never to preuss's. heard of it though. Also, I have been to Aquatic Discoveries, on 15 and Ryan. was really impressed with the first visit, but the second was disappointing. Maybe I'll give it another go.
There is also one on Inkseter road, in wayne called Captive Reef. Been there once, and it looked like the guy was well on his way. I could tell that it was a newer store/owner.
I like Fish Doctors in ann arbor, they actually got me started, but the one in canton is rather lacking.
I dont really frequent one shon inparticular. I dont buy things very often for my tank, except for RO water and I get that from pet conn. only because its cheap there. Otherwise, I will shop all over and find what I am looking for.

Justin,
I know what you mean about shopping around. I haven't picked up anything major for my tank in months. I still like to spend an afternoon, maybe once, a month and just make a trip to a half dozen lfs's to see what new critters they have.
I was definately disappointed with Fish Doctors in canton. I liked the one in ann arbor, but upon talking to them. They basically have such a high turnover that fish are rarely there for but a week, I was told by them. I usually like to see them in the lfs for atleast a week healthy before I consider picking one up.
I've only been to Aquatic Discoveries once, the manager told me they just sold an identical clarity plus 600g acrylic to fishbones in downtown detroit! "Supposedly" the guy spent 35 grand on having it set up as a reef! Fishbones deffinately makes money from the casino's so it might be true. I'm going to try checking it out on my next day off.
I've been to Captive Reef. I've been told its constantly changing hands regarding the owners. Every time I've gone in there, its a new group of people working. Last time I went in, almost EVERY fish had ick.
Theres two over on ford road by there also, the Fish Tank. Which is small but I really like and get most of my stuff at now-that I don't get online. Larry's House of pets also, but that place is give or take.
Tropicorium STILL to this day fascinates me to no end. I can literally spend two hours just going from lagoon to lagoon looking at the different corals. The owner's son raises all kinds of snakes and such up stairs for sale. Its pretty impressive, and a bit scary with some of the ones he has. But theres a nile monitor that gets out a bit often.
You're deffinately have to go out to lansing one weekend to see Preuss's. It takes about 50 minutes to get there from my house. 9 mile and meadowbrook. Its just with him being the only decent store in the lansing area, he can literally get away with selling corals and fish for on average 1.5-2x what they go for around here. They do have some amazing displays and a ton of corals, inverts, and fish. They also usually get some of the really rare and outrageously expensive sw fish.

Since you're fish &/or coral were not meant to be put in your tank either, I suggest you RELAX.In the meantime, unless you are doing my water changes and feedings, don't get your panties all up in a bunch!

Hey, I just hate to see someone abusing sealife! Why don't you get them into a regular tank instead of a glass jar that is so tiny that their waste products can ealily kill them in less than a day! Lesley

Why don't you go feed your cockatoos and stay out of the nano forum if you don't like nano tanks.
