Hi Katie, GREAT to see you on here!!
more help the better!!
Ok so out of that whole list (narrowing out the ones traveler said wouldn't work) here are my top five!
1. ANY type of butterflyfish. I am so in love with these. Is there one that just wouldn't eat my corals and wouldn't die he first day I got it?
2. Harlequin tusk. Wow. Beautiful.
3. Marine betta. I'm very hesitant about this though, because of the live feeding. I had a zebra dwarf lion that had to be started on ghost shrimp and he'd be "fine" when he's off but I never could wean him. I tried everything.
4. Mimic half black tang.
5. Tie btw anthias and powder blue. If I got anthias wouldn't I have to get like 2-3?
I heard powder blues were very touchy and didn't have a good survival rate. Anyone experience this?
P.s. --traveler--where'd you get your info that copper bf eats stony corals? I actually heard they were one of the only ones that wer reef safe. Just wondering!
Thanks for the Compliment on the stock list--I really don't like the "yellow Tangs blue Tangs" etc that almost EVERYONE has. I like the more original stuff!!
As I said in my above post, a pyramid butterfly fish could do. I don't see why you couldn't get a harlequin tuskfish, as long as you don't mind lil' friends of your clean up crew disappearing once in a while.. lol... and also they are quite expensive. The cheapest I've seen them are babies on sale for a bit under $60... other than that, they are usually in the $100s. I must agree though, they are quite stunning. You definitely could do a mimic half black tang... I don't see any problems there. Where did you here that you have to get 2-3 anthias if you wanted one???? That's only certain species I believe. I wouldn't go for a powder blue. I never said that the copperbanded BF eats stony corals... where did you see that? I said that the raccoon BF will eat stony corals. Have you ever heard of or thought of a Golden Semilarvatus Butterflyfish? I think that they could work in your tank.
