Goodwin, the tank they are in is around 200 Gallons correct? As they get bigger, are you going to move them to something larger, or will the 200 be plenty for a while to come?

The tanks a little over 200 gallons. The rays haven't grown much but I can't say the same for the shark. The was about a foot when I got him nearly a year ago and he has grown to approx. 19". I am looking at a couple of options for a new home for the shark.

Great stuff goodwin. I also plan to have a shark/ray tank in a few years once I move into a bigger place and have the money saved up.

After a year in my tank, my shark will be leaving tomorrow for a new shark & ray tank at a LFS. He will be moving into a 10 foot pool and should have a lot more room than my tank. In a years time, the shark has grown nearly a foot to almost 2 feet in length. I will take some pictures tomorrow when they come to pick him up. They are going to have to remove him from my tank by hand, (not mine). Should be interesting....

I wasn't able to get the pictures that I was hoping. He used a net and I was amazed at how easy it wen into the net. Almost no thrashing as it was lifted out of the tank and put in the tub for the move.

Sorry he had to go. At least he will have plenty of room in the new tank. Other than that tank looks great

Here is a shot of the shark in his new home. Should have plenty of room in here. Not that far to go and visit once and a while....

I believe that they can grow to over 4 feet. This guy will be out of my tank well before that.....

Limitedslip is right. It's a Wabbegong, ((Orectolobus sp.), from Austrailia. Here are a couple of pictures I took after putting him in the tank. Not all of the lights were on, so the quality isn't the greates...

Nice Goodwin! I'd check on src, but I'm pretty sure that most common wobbies get over 6' and even 10'.
What do you plan on doing with it once it outgrows the tank?
