Hi everyone again, well first I am going to ask - you all know this is a FW build - if anyone objects I will certainly stop. Anyways here are a few pictures of my stand, this tank is going in my home office. So basically I am building a cupboard on one side of the office, it is about 7 feet long. The sump that you see above will fit perfectly underneath. Again if anyone objects I can stop this thread, I respect that this is a SW site. Thanks for now.

Hey it still a fish tank right.. LOL but i dont think anyone will have a problem at all if they do then they are a very shallow person, because you are trying to help others out with showing them what you have done.. It would be just as if you were doing a SW build.. Just the tank will not have SWF in it..

Good start, Al. An aquarium build is an aquarium build as far as I'm concerned. It can be educational regaurdless of what type of livestock is kept in it.

Yes - the back header has one into every stud on the wall and I used hanger on the cross supports. I don't think it is going anywhere. You can see the lag bolts behind the tank because there is a cross piece under the back of the tank, I am hoping to get water into this thing this weekend.

Well I changed my mind - I like saltwater too much - I wondered about any contaminants from previous critter or treatment in this used tank, it seems to be OK. I want to raise sea horses, the tank is 36L x 18W x 24H - I think it will be perfect for horses. I hope some of the horse keepers chime in, the only thing that is changing with the sum is where the basket of bio balls or red brick I will put a skimmer - I can add a fuge with a separate tank, have a few kicking around - 20 gallon in mind already drilled. I am excited to read more about them, I have read the stickies on this forum. Hopefully something can be put together that works for me. I would really appreciate some guidance. Thanks for now.

Here is a list of questions or what I would like in the tank
Tank - 36 gallons 36l x 18w x 24h - How many and what kind of horses would be good in this tank
Substrate - Live or just regular sand - can black sand be used, how much inch or two
Lights - T5HO - 24" - set of 4 or 6, won't go too crazy with corals
Skimmer or ATS
Macroalgae - need help - I like live plants
Corals, mushrooms,
Rock - how much - I understand dry rock should be used

It looks great AL. You are so talented! I have only maybe a tiny offer of advice.

You don’t seem to have much room behind the tank, pictures lie so I really can’t tell. If you go with a sump you need room back there for an overflow box and if you are using any other type of filter you still need at least 5 inches between the wall and tank just to be able to maneuver back there.

I am not an expert as you well know, it’s just that it looks like only inches back there and I have learned over the years that too close to the wall is not a useful thing with a fish tank and you are still in the frame part of the plan and can still extend it if you need to.

I think the picture is a little deceiving, there is actually about 5 inches, the overflow is internal on this tank. Thanks for watching out for me Flower, how is that beautiful sump doing

I don't want to mess with your build thread...so check out my thread on the sump...LOL
Looking out for each other is all we can do, it's why we are here. I was hoping the pictures had lied, you had done so much work. You are so talented, I can't wait to see it all completed.
