New to SW getting 30 gallon Help

Ok dont forget Iam new to this. I was looking at my tank this morning on one of my LR there was a lady bug looking creature that was white & red on its back and two tenticals coming out the front???? I havent even put anything in the tank and I have something new happening all the time.. how exciting is that - to me anyway.

LOL...SW is always exciting....Can you get a pic of it?

yes it looks something like those collinista snail the guy is so small about the size of one of these smiling face characters.

You're welcom...I hope I'm not a jinx....sometimes I tink when people see I am posting in a thread they run the other way

On a more serious note....I have learned 90% of what I know from this forum. I read A LOT of threads "just in case" one day it may pertain to me

I now have what I belive is Neomeris growing on my rock. is this crazy I have only been up and running and waiting to cycle for two weeks. is this normal at this early time frame?

I had to look that up
It doesn't look like it's harmful though
I have 3 tanks, and each one has different things happening in it

This hobby is a neverending learning experience...

Hey MEowzer I got the light today and I am very Happy with it.
Ok I know Iam still waiting no change in my tank yet the ph did go up to 8.2
the ammonia was @ .25 maonday & tuesday now back to 0 rites & rates are still @ 0
I know not much of change still hanging in there.

You went with the satellite dual didn't you?
I think you'll like it.....and I like that it has seperate switches for the day and actinics

Yes i did it looks good i like the 2 switches as well. so far so good.

ok got the new light on and loving it just wautung for the cycle and installed another power head. a KORl # 1 now have two of them I think that is ggod flow?

your tank is looking great, I didn't run away meow, just lost this thread. hehehe
now a couple of things you might do.
If you are planning on any digging fish, like a jaw fish, be sure your rock is resting on the bottom of your tank. I used small pvc and made a square to put under the rock and sand. that way if they dig, they wont knock your rock down.
Try ghost feeding your tank if you arent already. this will help build the good bacteria.

So it has been 3 weeks since you added LR and stuff?
Almost 1 week w/o ammonia.....did you ever get any Nitrite readings? I would stop ghost feeding...I did that once....If you have no readings on anything after a day or 2 more, you can try addin a few cuc...maybe some cerith and nassarius snails, and see how they do
any diatoms yet?
