ok so my mom stole my camera... and yeah no pics today, but a quick update:
EVERYTHING IS AT 0!
Amonia is at 0
Nitrate-0
Nitrite-0
Ph isnt at zero... but i dont think its suppose to anyway haha, measured that two days ago at about 8.0-8.2
BUt yeah i find it weird that everything clocks out at 0... i have 2 snails, 2 blue legged hermits (which i havent seen in 2 days!) one emerald crab, and a hitchhicker, and what you guys helped me id as maybe strwberry anenomy, and 2 aptista, which i have found... but yeah isnt it weird that everything is at about 0?
Well next up is fish!! yay! either that or save up for a giant aquaclear, or a real stand haha

Having everything read 0 sounds off....how old are the test kits, look for the expiration dates. Also to double check, take some water to the LFS to have them test it against your readings, just to be sure.

Ok you guys i might be getting a fish soon, a little clown fish yay 12 bucks :) beats 54 at my fish store haha,
But i think i might have a dilemma! i am going to go on vacation in august for 2 weeks, so 2 weeks, and im afraid about evaporation, food for the fishy, and that it will jump out!
My tank looses half an inch maybe every 2-3 days, of water, and about an inch-1 .5" or a little more for a whole week, and my salinity might go from normal top off of about 1.204 to 1.206 in a week, so i got no clue in 2 weeks! but i do have all the way to the rim, since the water level is just under the black plastic line, do you guys think if i fill it up all the way to the rim it will last ok for 2 weeks? also the light wont be on, and its usally on from about 7 am to 10 pm (lots of light i know haha)
and as to feedings will the fish (or i might get a pair) will do ok without food for 2 weeks? or is there like something that i can buy to clip onto the tank and let them eat when ever they want?
and will they jump out? i dont have a top on my tank, and cant get one at the moment because the filter is on the side of the tank,
So yeah thats my major questions right now sorry its so long!

ok you guys like i said i might get my first fish from people on CL who are selling their fish due to moves and such, heres my levels they seem good, amonia is at about 0, nitrate is about 0, nitrate, is 0, and ph is i think 8.4, i think the reason the levels seem at 0 so much is because i only have like 5-6 organisms in the tank that actually clean... ? well heres some pics for you guys on the levels, and colors in the tubes maybe a bit dark because of lighthing

Ok heres some pics of the fish, they move... A LOT! the dart from one end to the other, which i find weird, they dont seem to choose a spot to stay in they have been in a ton of different places just looking around, also i have pics of the food, i gave them one block today, thawed out but i dont know the difference between the foods... So a little help will be nice.

Yeah i have a small CUC, might buy more snails, but my emerald did most of the cleaning, which he attacked the larger clown because she got to close to him haha, no, i also got an unmarked brand, it was in a blue box he pulled it out of, it was blue with a yellow tang, and some other fish on it, maybe i can find a pic of the box on the web,
so can i thaw it out a bit, (the whole block) just enough to cut it in half, and put the rest in a little container in the freezer? or how do you divide/cut/prepare the food? tips are always nice

cut it frozen..DO NOT thaw and refreeze...just use a knife..it will cut easy

ok well i am going to have 15 dollars this weekend what can i buy that will be pretty efficient in the tank? the large snails in my tank cost about 2.99 i think, and the hermits cost about 1.99 each, (which the two i have are fighthing today for crumbs and each otheres shells...) and yeah i cant find the brand... How do i know if its mysis shrimp?

Sorta, probably the closest thing to it, i think that is the name though,
yeah i was wondering if i could get some sand burrowing snails, and what would be good types of those, the guy i bought the fish from had a really nice one, he said it goes thru the sand and just pokes its "snorkle" out for food, and just burrows in the snow but he never said the name, would you know it?

nassarius are sand burrowing snails...
Well if that is what you do have....the cubes are green
and gelaneous.....don't use them as regular food.....I doubt the fish will eat it...just leave it in the freezer for now

OK you guys been gone about 2 weeks on vacation but im back now, the tank when i got back was doing fine... even though i am missing one fish and i think a snail has died, yet everything else seems fine, the fish i havent seen at all is the blue green chromis, i have no idea what happened to it, my aunt was in charge of the tank while i was gone but she also has no clue what happened to it, and theres no traces of it anywhere, i am going to do a water change this weekend, since i need to go buy water, but anybody have a clue what may have happened to my chromis? im going to check my levels later today, this weekend if i can i will buy the water and some smaller snails, also i have found corals in the live rock i forgot to mention will post pics later as well
