I was playing around with some actinic shots last night, and a few depth-of-field shots in the birdsnest. Not the greatest, but still fun:

LOL Seth, you're right. But.....Avatar's got NOTHIN on our tanks at night.
Dude. I just found my tiger goby crispified on the floor. Damn. You know, I'm going to stop posting pictures of fish in QT. I'm not saying there's a causative relationship here, but.....well, seems like every time I show you my QT fish, something happens. Sucks. And those guys are SO hard to find here.

dang dude... sucks to hear about that goby.... I know how excited you were about it as well...
zoas that I gave you look freaking good!
What you doing Tuesday evening? Let's get together if you guys are not doing anything.

Yeah, I'm bummed about the goby...and it's my fault. I should have covered that back 2 inch hole. Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda. I'll fix it for next time.
And yes, those Zoas look awesome! REALLY pretty, and the actinics are amazing.
I picked up some c-channel aluminum tonight, and some flat strips for cross bracing. I also grabbed some reinforced cutoff wheels for my dremel tool, and some JB weld to help epoxy the joints. I think I'll wake the neighbors up bright and early tomorrow am to the sweet sound of the high-pitched whine of a dremel tool and screeching metal.

Hey Richard, I think we're clear Tuesday night after 6-ish. Your place or ours?

Would it be ok if we drive up this time?
My wife is not on the best of condition these days and I just wanted her to be around some good company to have some good time.
Next one will be on me, I promise.

You got it. We'll either eat in and watch some BSG or BBT, or maybe we'll go grab a bite somewhere low-key.
Hey, keep an eye out for a tiger goby or a McCosker's if you're out at your LFS, would ya?

Since I suggested that Siptang show us under his tank, I figured it's only fair you saw under mine.
That sounds dirtier than it is. No, seriously....it's not terribly dirty under there. Look:
The right side cabinet (where the ATO bin is):

By the way, yes, this power bar is screwed into the wood, not balanced on the water bin. Heh.
The left side cabinet is for cords and test kits. This way most of the electrical is safe and dry:

The cords may look disorganized, but they're all labeled at least.
And finally.....where the magic happens:

The return tubes you see here are coming from a bioplastics reactor and a GFO reactor.

That's my $120 Marineland skimmer. I don't know why people bash these things. I love mine, and it produces this much skimmate every 3-4 days. Just let it break in for a few days, keep the water level constant in the skimmer section, and you're golden.

I wish I had the room you do under your tank. I would love to have a refugium, and so would all my macro-algea. Everything looks good Rick! Sorry to read about your fish though. No bueno my friend.

Kiefers, half of the reason I rebuilt the stand was so I could have extra room for the electrical and the ATO tank. The rest of the bookcase just sorta evolved from there...but I know what you mean, we're ALWAYS looking for more room to squeeze some piece of equipment into. If I could, I'd find some way to add an extra 4 square feet for a larger fuge and an algae scrubber.

lmbo. You should see how I try to shove big equipments into tiny sump area. (nope, not going to go there lol)
(original post: You should see how I try to shove big things into tiny spaces then I re-read it laughed out aloud)

Seriously, I think we all have to be experts at space management to get all this equipment tucked in under the stands like we do. And yes, I've seen under Sip's tank....he really IS good at doing that.
It's pretty scary under there for most of us. I have a weird habit (at least my wife thinks it's weird): When I meet someone new with a tank, I always ask to see their filtration setup.
Richard, I got a red Poci and (I couldn't help it) a beautiful-looking pink Australian Goniopora frag. This doesn't mean I won't still want a frag of your red Goni when it grows out, though...
