My point was that the McCain crowd is an example of who his base is...white, evangelical, under educated and has zero diversity. Based on the exist polls I saw, Obama had a lot more support from college eductated white Americans and I think this is a great thing!
Or the normal person, who now is seemingly being force-feed this crap that the election was about race, when it never apparently was, but the people in the crowd really are just a makeup of the cities they held their rallies. I wouldn't expect to see too many not whites in Arizona, but I would expect to see Chicago to be well mixed.
Though, since now I guess it is about race, where were all the white celebrities at the Obama rally? Oprah, Spike Lee....
I guess on a positive note, there wasn't anybody like Jesse Jackson at McCain's rally...

Jenny, I love when you chime in cus it almost always makes me smile

My point is that ALL people support Obama and it would seem that is not the case for McCain. I haven't seen the numbers but I'd be willing to bet Obama won the Hispanic vote, asian vote, black vote, white women and the Jewish vote.
yes when i see you have chimed in i smile like i got a card from a first grader too jmick
obama was more popular... you know like the quarterback in high school . obama is young and good looking and well spoken , and had more money that in itself took alot of votes. he won and as my new future president i will pray for his protection everyday and for him to have the courage and wisdom it takes to run this country same as i do bush, same as i did clinton.

You really think McCain is a conservative?
That is out of touch.
I didn't think he was a real conservative when the election began but he certainly didn't go out of his way to appeal to moderates and his choice of Palin highlights that.

Did you not listen to mccain speak? Did you not hear mccain use language like price floor, buying out people morgages and arbitarily reducing the morgage, his green policies.
Did you not hear his I lost speech. What more do you want, you had a moderate democrat (minus his position on the war) running as a republican.

Oprah was in the front row. She announced after the rally that her show today was exclusively about the election because she could now "speak freely of her beliefs." Rev. Jackson was right behind her, tears in his eyes. When they interviewed him, his comment was 'My Son did good today. All is right with the world'".
As I stated before, during the campaign, the media didn't highlight Obama's race. They tried to avoid it. But as soon as it became apparent he was going to win, that's all the media talked about. They had a 'live' feed from Kenya (I guess he has family over there?) The live feed from Harlem. On ABC, it seemed they used primarily Black reporters in all their pieces. When Obama was speaking, most of the people they panned in the audience were Black. On the MSN web site, the front page was the headline 'Obama First African American Elected President', with a picture of two black women smiling. Practically every major newspaper in the country has a picture of a Black person smiling and 'high-fiving' one another on the front page. So it's obvious now that the significance of Obama's winning isn't completely about his platform or policies, but the fact that a 'person of color that is not caucasian' is able to obtain the highest office in the nation.

M u s t not go on a tangent.....................
Ok, I have refrained myself.
I have a question. Those of you that supported Obama's stance to pull out of Iraq, how long will you give him to pull the troops out and what is an acceptable amount for him to leave at a military base in Iraq? This is something that many of you have asked for immediately or a timetable.....both are do able in your eyes (unlike the economy which will take a longtime to fix) so I ask on this issue. How long are you willing to give him to follow through with his promise to do so.

That seems now more true then over. People want marrige to be being a man and woman, yet support a canidate that supports anyone can get married....

This has been one of the funniest things in a long time. California voted a resounding no to overturn the ban on gay marriage and Florida voted a big yes to define marriage as between one man and one women.
But yet somehow, this was one of Obama's key political stances and he won both states. Wow....

It's my understanding that the current plan is to be completely out of Iraq in three years. That's the deal Bush has made with the Iraqi government. The Iraqi's actually prefer for us to pull out sooner if I'm not mistaken. They know Obama is for doing this, so I doubt they will have any problems if we do pull out sooner. Obama wants to concentrate our efforts on Afghanistan. The work in Iraq is done. The 'surge' has worked in your own words. It's time to cut the apron strings, and let the Iraqis take care of themselves. If they get into trouble, we'll just be right next door trying to capture the individuals who actually had something to do with 9-11.

What's your point? Mine is an observation. I voted for Obama for his policies and his platform, not for what color his skin is. The media turned the focus of his win away from his platforms, to being a win based on his race.

I am with you buddy. Hey now that Obama is going to be president, everyone can leave the racist crap against white people alone. Considering that the majority of the U.S. is white and they just elected a black president that makes white people Not Racist! Hey at least one good thing came out of this election.

I had a guy whom I work with who is white... he went to see a customer (business owner) and they were talking about not knowing what they were going to do for the next year.. My co-worker said why...
The business owner proceeded to say that they may have to shut down because Obama may get elected... he then said don't vote for that n-word... and tell all your white friends....
My coworker not really sure how to respond because he too is a Obama supporter... but doesn't want to loose a sale or alienate his customer...
Point is that Obama will be highly criticized from the start... so I hope that my belief in his abilities will come to fruition.. and he will be a great President... and bring us together and help us realize that we share a common goal of a better America... a proseperous America ... a safe America

Well I am thrilled with the results from last night and I think President Elect Obama will do a superb job. Loved that it turned out to be a landslide on the electoral side and a resounding win when looking at votes cast. I will give McCain credit because it could have been much worse. He had many obstacles to fight...the fall of the markets, Bush (who will go down as one of the worst presidents of all time), Palin (who was a terrible choice and who will fall back into relative obscurity now that her 15 minutes are over) and he had to contend with an amazing ground game by Obama.
Also, as I said in another thread there will not be riots, sure some of you are disappointed but life will go on even if you didn't get a chance to shoot anyone.
Anyone notice the stark contrast between the crowd at the McCain rally and the Obama rally in the park? I don't think there was a single non white at McCain's rally and I find this to be rather telling.

With statements like these, you really think, that the racist garbage is over? It is just beginning.

Obama is a racist. Why are people ignorant to that or is it okay because he is black. People do not seem to have opinions anymore. Their beliefs are facts. That is a scary trend! Obama is going to be no different than any of the other puppets that have been elected. I personally feel that the Obama supporters are going to be seriously disappointed. The world is broken and one man is not going to able to repair it.
