I'm sorry but going from all men in 1776 to counting black men as 3/5ths a, when they wrote the consistitution in 1787, as men would constitute a stray imo.
No... slaves weren't considered men... but the equvilant to livestock.... The 3/5ths Compromise was established so that slave states would have increased representation in Washington or Philadelphia (Capital)... However there was a similar provision in the Articles of Confederation.. so there orginally was not any intent .... To Treat All Men as Created Equal...

Anyone catch the rumors that Obama is considering Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State? Please God let that be just a rumor. She is a light weight on foreign affairs. There are too many much better choices Obama can make.
Its a role she possibably could fill... I think she has the capacity to serve in that roll. I think it will be between her, Bill Richardson, and Chuck Hagel.

Hillary Clinton deserves no role in any administration. Hopefully Obama will finally stand up to her and give her what she deserves.... nothing

That is simply not true, in the north they proposed not allowing slaves, but the south view that as a deal breaker. So in an attempt to get the constitution ratified they "reached across the isle" and dropped the slave issue.
Although this is very insightful, no wonder libs like obama hate the constitution.

there are others, but I'm kinda buzzin and am going to bed.
what exactly did he campaign about on deregulating? If I remember correctly he was one of the first senators (a while ago) to point out the deregulation of the

industry was going to be problematic.

I agree with you. However, this news article is just a statement of how much influence religion has in the way people think. I doubt very seriously the pope would condone this behavior. His peers don't even seem to agree with it. Like I said, it's sad the people of this church will bow down to the wishes of this priest simply because they fear retribution from the Big Guy if they don't. I guess this would be a dilemma for a person whose a staunch Democrat and a devout Catholic. You have to decide to vote for your present future, or your future in the Great Beyond (if that actually exists).
This guy isn't the only one that has done this. There have also been Bishops say politicians shouldn't receive comunion

Why pick between 3 stooges when you could get someone who has actually engaged in diplomatic relations like John Kerry. Richardson for all his experience showed himself to be an absolute boob on foreign policy during the debates.

No, what's hilarious are the morons and idiots who still believe it. The head moron is Palin. Please let her be the Republican candidate in 2012. You think this election was a blowout, let her run and see a Democrat in for another 4 years.

Well, he said to look at his record, and his record is deregulation even when its inappropriate. Yes he did say the mor.tgage industry deregulation would be problematic, but just covering his back side as he pushed for these deregulations like 15 years ago. So again, he said to check his record, and I did, and then I didn't vote for him.
I am not always against deregulation by the way. I voted for Bush the first time b/c I believed less gov't interference would be good at the time. However, I was wrong, and during the Clinton admin we apparently didn't have enough as shown by the corporate scandals. But free markets have the same problem as social programs: Free Riders. Just in the free market they are called market manipulators, unthical businessmen, and criminals. People take advantage of the system, and while I believe most markets benefit with the persuit of one's own self interest, I do not think that is an end all despite what all my econ professors claimed.

hmmm lets think about this, ever heard of the fairness doctrine. (I don't think it is the conservatives trying to shut people up)
besides why would I think something that isn't right.

What better way to change it then learn everything about it....

Only morons and idiots I noticed were those who bought Obama line of crap. I can't believe Ayers actually kept a straight face when he said what he did as a member of the Weathermen wasn't terrorism. What is truly scary is there are idiots who will believe him.
If obama follows Pelosi to the extreme left next election will be a blowout, for the Republicans.

Yep, you hear some of the crap he has been talking. Secretary of State requires someone with the ability to engage in the debate both publicly and privately with a certain degree of class and dignity. Clinton could be good but need more experience. Either of the Kerry's would be better choices.

Keep livin' the dream. Problem is, you'll have to wait 4 years before you wake up and hope it's reality.

I'm counting on the dems to make the same mistake they did when Clinton got elected the first time and again when Jeffers flipped and gave them the Senate. I am pretty optimistic based on their history and some of the noise coming out of washington.
