BIG DILEMMA
Apparently my blue hippo does not like the clam...I have seen it pick it up and move it 3 times....I am guarding it at the moment
ANY IDEAS? Anyone ever have this happen? If it continues, I am going to have to put it in the 29g

WELLLL I just moved it to the 29G

I moved it across the tank in the 225g, and the hippo still picked it up 2 more times and tossed it.....I don't want to risk losing it (literally) in my rock, so I felt it best to move it
On the plus side of this, I have placed it in the centerof a small round flat rock...this rock (after the clam attaches) will be able to be moved anywhere I want....that will help for the feeding too..

Well he had a rough day so far...LOL...If you mean his purply color....it has expanded some outward

I really have no clue what I am supposed to be looking for
Do you think she will be ok in the 29G....It is in the upper 3rd of the tank...the 29g is obviously not as old as the 225, BUT at least no one will be picking it up and throwing it around

You want the mantle, the purply part, to extend out over the shell like this.

These are t5 lights on this tank? How many total watts?

OK....I just saw what you meant. Although it was not out as far as that, the "mantle" was out over the lip some...
96watts....if it attaches to this rock, then I could move it to the 225....right?
If it is attached to a rock, can the fish get it off????
Have you ever had something like this happen...or heard of it?

Not too surprising as fish get territorial and something freaks them out. I would worry that the fish would try to move it and possibly tear the clams byssal threads.

HMMMM, so it may be a permanent resident of the 29g then...
Whose tank is this anyway...lol...mine or theirs
LOL...well I guess it IS their home...I just get to take care of it...kinda like a fish maid

When I grabbed it to get it out of the 225, and moved it to the 29g....for a split second it was exposed.....
Oh my...tell me ....how bad is that???

I think it has been thru a traumatic experience...lol...first an airplane ride, the na fed exp van...then a clam throwing hippo....so hopefully it will now have a chance
