Tim,
Have you read any debates or research on when it says (I'll try and look up where its at tonight) "without knowledge of sin their is NO TRANSGRESSION, but still its still sin...." Just curious, heard a reference to it by David Wilkerson (Times Squear Church of NY) a few months ago during one of his sermons.
To everyone else, Anyone read The Book of Enoch? Even if you don't believe its maintained its truth... its still a creepy book to read if you've read much on ancient history/cultures!

Hi Daniel.
David Wilkerson came to my church (Cardiff City Temple - Pentecostal) a few months back, as did the other pastor of that church who's name passes me. Fantastic guy, could listen for hours.
I cant think off the top of my head where that is from, sadly my research is Old Testament Patriarchal periods rather than New Testament (my greek isnt up to much!).
Enoch (hebrew Henock) is an apocryphal book, very interesting. Written in Aramaic (which I also learn) it was used by Tertullian, Ireneus and countless important founding fathers of the church in the first century, also quoted by the catholic epistles of St Jude. For some reason it ceased to be quoted and didnt make it in to the final canon. Thats as far as my knowledge goes im afraid!
Thanks Melody ill add you now!
Tim.

Melody,
Do a search online for "book of enoch". You're find quite a few online translations of it. It was written by Enoch when he was told about the heavens/angels/fallen angels etc. Obviously it was all told to his son, and I'm not going to say for certain... but I recall that jesus once quoted from it to the pharisee's.
I'll leave it to you to look up some of the views and debates on it. I believe theres only five chapters to it, so its a quick read.
Tim,
Understand what you mean by listening for hours. I've downloaded some of his sermons that were 6-7 hours long! In the little research I did on the book I found out that some early catholic leaders were upset that the book contradicted the view "they wanted", and they pushed for it to be forgotten. Ever see the greek mythology connection to it?

Tim,
Since we all are born sinned I assume you know what I will ask next. So how can someone born sinned and yet can be in heaven by mercy without knowing jesus.
I rather drop this thing. (Ofcourse you know hinduisme is the oldest culture in the world and not known the start of the date. there are parts where christianity has same things that hinduisme has)

Hi Daniel,
Im not sure Jesus did quote it, imprepared to be wrong, but the Old Testament Jesus would have used we call the Moseretic Text. This text was not used by English translating scholars, we translated ours from the Septuagint (Greek translation of the Hebrew texts) and vulgate (courtesy of Luther). If he did say it the citation would be misplaced...but im prepared to be wrong.

Hi nature lover,
You are bordering on the debate of 'original sin', mainly conquered by St Augustine of Hippo. Its a very controversial area and one that could go on for hours, but a brief summary of my belief, is that we are not born sinners, but sin from a very early age. As I said im not an expert on original sin, i try and avoid those discussions!
What i meant was God takes mercy on children or babies who would not have heard, or the african tribesperson who leads a sin-free life (if there is such a thing).

ok I am droping off of relegion, culture, and so on and going back to paranormal.
Anyone out there ever heard or experienced La Horla. If you haven't pray that you never want to experience it. It is kind of sleeping disorder or sleeping phenomenon where you are aware of everything going on but not able to do anything with it.
Me, my wife experienced it now my stepson having problem with it. I even contacted someone who was doing research on it 5-6 yrs ago.
If any mods want to lock this out of topic thread and keep strictly as saltwater please do so.

 This debate has got way to in-depth for me but as always I have an opinion :p so I will share... I believe we are all born sinners. We may have not YET done the act of sinning but it is in our nature. You don't have to teach a child to lie, it just comes naturally for us.

good point reefnut....i try to abstain from an opinion on that issue though, too tricky.
Well if the mods want to they can, but we are allowed the occasional OT, and as long as it is kept polite and orderly, cant see the problem with it.
hey at the end of the day, makes people come to the site, which is what the board is here for at the end of the day!

This is an QT discussion, and a varied and interesting one at that. As long as we don't start throwing chum at each other over our opinions, everything is cool.

Going back to crop circles. There are few mentioned that they have seen it is hoax on discovery. The same channel sent something about UFO too, so do you guys thing it was hoax too? Even tho there were clear video tape. I someone will jump in and say it was fake tapes and pictures, then why can't the samething apply for the theory of hoax. that hoax is fake.
Just wanted to keep this in heat.

Now that its back to crop circles and ufo's....
I don't think that an individual documentary on ufo's, pertaining to hoax's and explainable science. Is categorizing all as hoax's.
The very definition of a ufo doesn't include aliens. Just simply something unidentified yet. I'm sure the SR-71 was presumed a UFO for awhile. When was it designed vs. it publiclly acknowledged?

check out close encounters of the third kind. IMO Spielbergs greatest Sci-Fi movie and the best alien movie out there.

My thought process for original sin is if we are born without sin babies would not die, but we all know babies do die and even babies die that are full term die moments before birth for no reason and are born dead. I believe we are sinners from conception.

I said I wouldn't jump into this again, but then since Adam and Eve sinned, according to bible we are descentes of(from) them, it does make sence that we all are sinners. The laws now these days preventing people from doing the same sin they have done way back I assume.
Edit: Tim
As you could see since we all are sinners then the mercy theory from you doesn't apply at all since you said those who haven't done any sin gets mercy to goto heaven.
If someone that haven't done any sin gets to goto heaven by mercy then the same bible says only way to goto heaven is through beliving in jesus so your theory already conflict with what you said.
The reason is
1: we are born sinners. ( i beleive bible does say that)
2: God have mercy on people who haven't done any sin.(don't know anything about this from bible)
according to nr 1 there are no one is pure.
3: only way to got heaven is through jesus.(bible says this)
according to 3rd no one goes to heaven except those who are saved.
Question is how about the tribes that were not found or never met any christian and still beleive in power of god in some other form.
