ok, I need some guidance... with getting the other tank going I'm debating about whether or not I should cycle. However, I'm using existing LR from my tank, adding sand (not live) and right now I am curing rock from St. Thomas that sat out as a display for two years. We washed off the rock, I scrubbed the holes in the rock, rinsed and rinsed again. Now it sits in SW @ 1.021 SG and 8.3 pH with a pump for the last week. I threw in Cycle to get some bacteria in there (this is how I cycled the 29).
Do you guys think the tank needs to be cycled. When I add the water (whenever the tank gets here), it will be exactly @ the levels of the 29 (almost like a water change). Really up in the air about this, want to do it for the sake of safety, but strongly believe why?? I'm adding the critters from the existing tank anyway, plus its being plumbed into the 29 so its sharing the same water...please help!
