Advancements in medicine, women's rights, minority rights, technological advancements -- these are just as important to the way of American life as what MLK tried to accomplish. However, we don't give them National holidays, do annual marches in thier honor, or continue to reference them as if they were the next Messiah. MLK was a significant individual in American history. I know that. But I don't need that shoved down my throat every year, and used as a way to create a guilt factor because you think their are still major racial inequities in this country.
Your comment exactly - "You can't be serious... why are there hardly any blacks playing in the NHL...must be racists" (insert foot into mouth here). My "white men can't jump" line was intended as sacasm to this remark. Don't take everything you read here literally.
If you feel guilty that is your own fault....
As far as sports go... the reason why there are less blacks in NHL is because first it is expensive in comparison to basketball and football. Baseball is also expensive for youths now with the traveling leagues. 2nd, hockey is played most often in areas where there is smaller black populations. 3rd, the schools that offer hockey in high school are private (rich) schools where there is probably little to no minority students.
Ask yourself this... why are there hardly any asians americans in American sports today or american hispanics? They are all usually from other countries and come here to play...

My whole point about blacks being in sports, is because you keep spouting off that the black people in this country are still discriminated against, and are unable to get ahead in their lives. I could care less what race plays in major sports, and which race is the most dominant in any one sport. The point I'm trying to make is the black person has just as many opportunities to make a good living for themselves as any other race that resides in this country. Their success in the professional sports industry is just one example that proves that.

I have a question for you. Why has Obama and Hilary both refused to go on shows such as O'reily, Rush, Hannitty, and Savage? Is it because they don't care to try to get some of the conservative vote? Do the not care about the conservativges at all in this country?
Stop making it a race issue. It isn't. It is a party base issue. and Historically the black and hispanic vote has gone to the democrats by a huge percentage. Just like the conservative vote has gone to the republicans in huge percentages. So The democratic candidates don't feel the need to go on those shows and debate.
Here is the true difference between the parties. after I have explained this tell me which party is promoting "slavery".
The republicans basic belief is the individual is responsible for themselves. Take care of themselves and if in need should go to their family and friends.
The democrats believe the government should take care of you and set you up with jobs, health insurance, housing (section 8), food (food stamps), money if without a job (welfare). and if you don't vote for them all of this goes away. As a republican if I chose not to vote for a republican and a democrat gets in office, I don't risk losing anything needed to live life as I provide for myself and family. If you don't vote for a democrat and a republican get's in office....you risk losing those things PROVIDED BY THE GOVERNMENT to you.
So I ask this question, which party is the true slave master?

It seems to me that most media is biased... Fox, CNN, etc... the only way to speak directly to people is to get in front of them. So this proves my point.

Maybe the Republicans skipped that debate because they realized that a majority of the people who watch the stations on the Univision network don't have a legal right to vote in the presidential election.

Sports is not a good example, but since you want to take it there we can talk about it lets just look at the disparity in coaching in NCAA and professional sports. Lets look at the quarterback debate. ...etc..etc. These are still issues and were larger issues just a couple years ago.

Yea, I bet some are... but we have many (more) hispanic citizens with full voting rights. And if I recall, Bush got the majority of hispanic votes in the previous election.

take O'Reily for example... he is a bully that will not let a person he disagrees with give a statement without interupting or attacking that person. As a host I think it is irresponsible to have an agenda.

without those things ... many people would tragically be homeless and starving. These things are for all people ... We need to take care of our people. But hasn't there been a debate on every news station even FOX by democrates.

Since the majority of the U.S. is caucasian it would only make common sense that sports in some areas would reflect this difference in our nation. Let's look at basketball....

Another wrong tidbit Ryan. The Democrats are estimated to have carried the Hispanic vote by 55% in 2004 and 65% in 2000.

Sheer propaganda Ryan... At least O'reilly has both viewpoints on his show.

So you mean to tell me these people can't find a job? I drive down the street and I see 15 signs stating they are hiring...try again.
See this is the perception the mmedia and democrats create for you. But do you truly know anyone that requires all those things personally to get by? If you do, what life choices did the make to get them in that situation? stop and think about it for longer than a moment and don't let "emotion' cloud the situation.
