this weekends updates:
live stock ^^
i purchased a small Blue Spiny Reef lobster!
And my first foray into SPS! (well , after monty caps)
i got 1 frag of teal , blue tipped bali acro
and 1 frag of an ORA green stylophora
WOOOOT light acclimating them by starting them off in the sand. so far so good , crossing my fingers!

Ok good to hear.
What about the ballasts? How many are there and do those need to be replaced along with the bulbs?

hey guys, i have sort have taken a bit of a hiatus from the boards as of late. been pretty busy, and lack of funds has slowed my progress. at least i already own the wood to finish the canopy so work can resume on that shortly when i can get isty back down to my place to help.
livestock-
i have started restocking my tank 2 nights ago as the LFS i went to had an unforseen 25% off all fish sale. i didnt really have the money to do it, but the prices were already on the low side for the few fish i have been thinking about getting, so i broke down and bought some very pretty specimens.
here is what is in the QT about to start the hypo process:
1 juvenile flame angel
1 purple fire fish - adult
1 Lawnmower Blenny
coral news-
the large monty cap has attached itself to the acrylic walls in three sections totalling close to 5 inches of contact!
the SPS are still alive but growth is minimal right now. i believe there still is not enough flow.
Tank Equipment
as i said there still is not enough flow , mostly in the upper part of the tank, so i placed a MJ-900 at the top. i will be modding this unit to get some serious push up there, but it should help for now.
pics coming soon!

ok guys saturday got around to doing some work on the canopy.
we could basically only do two things, 1) re-cut the opening for the final CLS design, and 2) glue the 50% of the side walls together.
here is the first section that was glued prior.
this is the front of the canopy where doors will be fastened.

here we are measuring and cutting the new opening
other diamond shaped opening are for the fans, and one small square cut out for electric cords.

new center CLS inlet

new sides getting glued.

more to come!
