Think of it this way - if the wall painted that color - keeps your wife happy - and you still get your shark pond - it's a win-win situation.
As I said before - Kudos.
And two thumbs up.

I wouldn't go with plywood - instead try the padding that used for koi ponds.
the padding is good for keeping the plastic liner off the concrete floor.

WOW!!! That'awesome AC!!!!! When do you think you'll acutally start filling it???? Can't wait to see the sharks in there.
Say....what kind of substrate are you planning to use???

I'm not sure of the filling time frame. I've got a lot of detail stuff to do with the filtration setup. The substrate will be a fine sand. Here's another picture of the progress today.

Sweet.
I've heard that it possible to pick up beach sand at Home Depot or Lowe's. But still it you should also mix some live sand or aragonite with it.

Unfortunately the beach sand at home depot isn't available in Colorado. Well here's the last picture of the day. And yes, more purple

At lowes they sell quickrete sand and from a thread is started a while back, AW2 along with another person said that their playsand comes from the ocean.

Well - if the playsand come from the ocean - go with the playsand.
And as for the color - at least it matches the walls.
