The new rock scape. :D

I like it!

Looks like plenty of places to swim and hide. Good job. I also like the minimal look you have going here.
I should take a picture of it, but....I just added a single piece of LR to the QT tank that will house my Divided Wrasse. The tank has a 2-inch soft white sand bed, and the single piece of rock looks.....very zen.....to me. I almost wish I could do a full size tank like that.

Dig the new rock scape. Did you use epoxy to hold that center rock?

Thanks guys. No epoxy. Counterbalanced. :) i used a long light rock and put a heavy rock on the far end to hold it up. They are steady.

EXTRA MONEY! WOOHOO!!!!
Tomorrow I get paid! yay! I guess I will order my socket stand offs and MAYBE be able to buy some wood for the canopy. If I can just get that all built and done I'll be adding corals before I know it! :D
Lighting is the only thing that is really holding me up at the moment.
I also have to replace the sandbed, but that shouldn't be too bad of a problem by any means. I hate that I couldn't use the old sand that I had, but it's just blowing around everywhere and piling on the right side of the tank. lol. At least when I get it all switched over I'll just be adding new corals and a piece of equipment here and there. Then all will be good in the tanks world. :D
I have to buy some more salt. I was thinking of using Instant Ocean this time around. A 200g mix in my area is about $55. I figure 20g water change once a month would last me about a year give or take. I think it's worth it. :D

You see that I am going to do more water changes on this system then I have in my past systems.... This is because I don't want to be a lazy reefer anymore. I have seen how good some of those tanks are on the bigger forums, and they all do water changes... I feel like if I am ever going to get a TOTM award, I need to step it up a notch. lol
I'm also going to buy a Hanna checker when I get the chance. The more I keep reading, the more I am understanding the importance of not letting phosphate levels drop below 0.03ppm... I just want to make sure that I am feeding the right amounts to keep the sps happy.
ALSO,... I don't know if I have said it or not, but I will be adding a few LPS and softies to this tank anyways. My wife really likes the look of the stuff that moves around - and it's kinda her tank too... I also like the stuff that moves but I am more interested in the challenge of SPS corals. I know one thing is for sure... NO LEATHERS!!!

20% about once a month. :) ill mainly be using it as a tool for removing detritus and partially cleaning the sandbed. Besides that, i figure it will balance the tank as well.

Not out of the dog house yet. X( We didn't budget in half a car payment and so we actually have a little less money than we thought. SUCKS! So, It will probably be another week or two before I can order anything. UGH!

I think that's pretty common that you see most if not all of the big TOTM winners do water changes.....Haven't seen any really "state" just topping off to replenish elements.....A bit more to it than that.....

Well, my daughter is doing it! She's crawling around really, really well and even assisted walking and now she is starting to get really curious about the aquarium. So, I'm going to have to build that side cabinet and canopy ASAP. (And get some childproofing mechanisms for the house.)
Hopefully this week I will have the money for the wood for the canopy. If that happens, I should have some money for the socket stand offs and I will really be rockin' and rolling then. If I can just get this dang canopy built, I can get my old tank and stand and everything broken down and out of the kitchen area. So, there may be progress on the canopy here next week or so.
