Eh. I dont know. Lol. Im sure with some egg crate and massive flow its possible.
Im considering splitting my reflectors in half and making a much smaller footprint for my lighting system. That way i can add moonlights and some supplemental leds or just change things up as necessary.
I have to save up for something non-fish related for the next few weeks so im kinda stuck at the moment. But, ill make slow steady progress over time. No worries. :)

Dude just stick to t5s like you planned and save your money for the new led set up later. You are making things way more complicated lol.

That's the plan. lol
Just sucks that I have to pay for something out of pocket when my wife's work should be paying for it up front instead of reimbursing her after the event.
So, I think I am going to add only two more fish to the tank. One is a yellow tang for sure - I love them. The second is going to be a flasher wrasse - like a Carpenters or McCoskers. The rest of the livestock is going to be in corals and a few inverts. I'll be mixing in some clams for sure.
I think 6 t5's over the top of a 75g should be plenty for what I am wanting to do.
My next major purchase is going to be wood for a canopy - and then it's going to be sand for replacing the sandbed.
At least I have a plan. :D

I bought six t5 reflectors used... I used some Mothers aluminum polish to get them all nice and shiny again. The clips on them are going to come off entirely and they will be screwed directly into the canopy. (when I get around to building it.)

Also - my orders should be coming in next week for sure. I'm getting pretty excited about them. Even though I don't have the money to build a canopy right now, it's nice to know that the build is progressing at a nice steady pace.
I will be using six T5's over this tank instead of the original planned 8. Just because my ballast can support a full eight doesn't necessarily mean that I have to use all eight over the top of my tank. Through research, I feel like six t5 bulbs over this tank will definitely be sufficient enough for what I want to do.

I'll have to replace this oolitic sand with something much more coarse. My powerhead is kicking it up pretty bad.
Goes to show that sometimes you shouldn't use what you already have on hand. lol

Now you see what my dilemma was forever about sand Seth.....
Yeah man. I know what you mean. I know I shouldn't have used it in the first place too. lol. I just wanted to use what I had - and it ended up backfiring on me. Oh well - lesson learned.
Besides, I wanted a more coarse media anyways - now I just have a good excuse to buy it. LOL

Hmm. My lfs has some course grade sand. Doesnt have any pigments in it though. Just white/gray. I was looking at that tihitian black sand that nova has but i dont know if i want black sand. My lfs has a good deal on his sand right now too. Ill end up getting some here in a few weeks. I have to save up for a few weeks for something my wife is going to for her work. Kinda puts me in a bind getting the rest of the stuff i need for my tank to get it going.
I have a few pics to share tonight as well. Just some stuff that came in.

I have a thread...

asking for advice on how to wire the bulbs up, if anyone cares to take a look.

My shunted sockets were shipped TODAY. I thought they were in stock when I ordered last week... UGH!!!! They should have shipped them to me last week, but I guess they are a little behind and backed up. If they keep shipping out consistently late, I'll switch online retailers and try to find someone that ships same or next day. Oh well, one of those things.
So far, no work has come in this week. I haven't gotten in a call to go back to work, so... yeah. I'm a little bummed. I wish I could work full time for two weeks and then get back to my regularly scheduled life, but things just don't turn out like that. :(
Anyways, I'll be happy once my sockets come in and my canopy is built and all is well in the world.

So,... I need some suggestions for aquascaping. I don't like my current aquascape and I was thinking about doing what I posted earlier about the tabling acroporas. I just want to know that there isn't anything else better out there. So, recommendations? Diagrams? Example tanks?
