No time to do anything!! Try as i might, i just dont have enough hours in the day to get everything done that i want to do.
I thought i would be able to build a temp canopy this evening but fate has me doing other things.
Maybe i will be off for christmas and have some time for myself next week. I may take next week off from work and toy around with projects that i want to get done.

So i was able to collect and mix up 4g for a water change this evening. I mixed up two gallons over night and poured one gallon in to try to keep my salinity in check.
I may have a little time today to get some things done, i hope.
My yellow tang is still going strong! Eating well still and happy as ever. No signs of disease so far. Still likes people.

Yeah, I don't know why it triple posted. Sometimes the mobile forums glitches up. Oh well.
I am going to do a 4g water change this evening like I had planned and siphon more water out. This is tedious!!!
All my fish look good and eating well. The montipora's polyps are still open and looking good. I have a small kenya tree and some other kind of leather in the tank and they have perked up and looking pretty good since I have been doing these small water changes. Don't know if that is coincidence or not.
Trying to get the house clean for Christmas guests as well. Man, I have been so busy I'm surprised I've been able to sleep! lol

As you can see in the pic, most of the sand has been removed. Another 12 gallons and the majority of it will be gone. My yellow tang is just chilling. lol. You can see a little bit of the orange montipora and the kenya tree that I have in this pic. Nothing significant yet, but it's slowly getting there! I might have all day saturday to work on my clients stand and possibly even get some stuff done to my temporary canopy. Who knows what will happen.

Looks good Seth......
I hate the holidays......Love seeing the kids faces, but hating having to put away all my toys, and clean up my mess....Hopefully you'll get a bit of free time to get some stuff done....Looking forward to some pics.....Actually I think I might take a weeks vacation in January....(not telling my wife) and do nothing, but work on my tank, and get the pulling tractors ready for tractor pulls.......I'm hoping I've been good this year and my dad has built me an alcohol motor for the tractor I'm building......He's told me in the past I was to young and not ready to handle my own yet.......

Yeah, I don't like the holidays much anyways. My daughter is the only reason I am remotely enjoying it this year. I just am appalled by the blatant consumerism this time of year. Christmas seems to be more about gifts than being thankful for family and celebrating Christian roots. I will try to get some more pictures up as the progress continues. My cell/computer was acting up and I finally was able to pull pics off of my cell phone. For some reason photobucket isn't working on my phone anymore, so that's what slowed me down posting pics.
Tractor pulls huh? I've seen that on TV. Mega machines or something like that. It's really cool to watch them haul 60,000 pounds, with their front ends coming off the ground! I don't know if I would want to do that though. I think you're a big boy and could handle it... hell, what's the top speed? 35mph? lol! That's awesome that your dad knows a lot about engines. I guess that is where your skills as a mechanic and driver come from.
I remember the days of having two 200g water vats. It was SO nice to have that much water on hand at any given time. Not only that, but I had a 300g horse trough rock holding reservoir and two 55g salt mixing barrels.... AH, the good ole' days.

Seth,
Looking good. I love the rockwork, very nice shape and feel to it. The YT looks great as well.

Really dig the rock scape and looks very natural with coraline going crazy on all of them.

Looking very good Seth......
Yeah the old man said I wasn't quite ready for an alcohol motor...Have you ever seen 1 come apart or the drive shaft or clutch explode.....It's not pretty......I have cost the ole man a good bit of money over the years.....I've tried to warn him at times about the motors not sounding good, but he usually gives me the look and tells me it's payday.....I blew 1 sky high this past summer and even though we won, he wasn't pleased.....
He told me there wasn't any need to pound it like I did.....I'll have to get a pic out of his shop, but it's my ole man 76yrs old the front end standing straight up in the air riding it out and he's say's I'm not responsible........
Good news is he left me a message late this afternoon and said he has something a bit interesting for me to dyno this weekend!!!!!!! God I'm hoping you answer my prayers!!!!!!

LOL, I didn't know mine was the only one active. I'm trying to post on it at least once a day so that I can get in the habit of making an entry.
That sucks! I have done that before with my small 20g - but you have a 72g, so it's not as bad. 3dKH increase in a matter of a few hours isn't that big of a swing, depending on what chemical you added, sodium bicarbonate or sodium carbonate... and what your pH was before you added.
So... TODAY!
I am finally up and going this morning. I am going to get as much as I can done on my customers stand today as I can. Hopefully I will have the rest of the trim work on and it all routed and sanded today. It would be nice to get at least one coat of primer on it before the end of the day as well. Maybe I can start on the doors today as well. We will just have to see. I'm trying to get as much as I can done on that stand today so that I can start working on my own little projects that I have going on. I want to construct that temporary canopy of mine here pretty soon so that I can actually install my lighting system that I just purchased.
Speaking of other wood projects - My wife told me that I could go ahead and build a shed at my place so that I can start doing woodwork at home. I'm pretty excited about that. I have so many projects that I want to do - I know I want to build a new desk for the office area so that my daughter can't get into the wires. But, I want it to look good. I also want to build a chest of drawers for my daughters room - I know that will be a challenge, but I am up to it. Then, I know I have to build my side cabinet for my aquarium. UGH! Just so much I want to get done!
The tank is going good. I didn't do that last 4g water change like I thought I would just yet. All of the inhabitants are looking good and doing well. The yellow tang is eating well still, so I don't think I have anything to worry about there. My skimmer is finally working like it should and collecting some stuff. I think I may purchase a few more fish over my break and possibly a couple of cleaner shrimp. I was hoping that I could get your help on a fish list here soon so that I can get a better idea of what I want.
So far I have a bicolor blenny, two tomato clowns and a yellow tang. I want a bunch of movement and color. I know my skimmer can handle it - and I know that I am going to build a UAS one of these days at one end of my sump. So, plenty of filtration.

Looking forward to seeing the updates Seth.......Why so concerned about the Yellow tang....
Sounds like you have a full plate of projects on the horizon.....The chest of drawers won't be that bad.....It is always fun doing the fine adjustments at the end getting the drawers perfect. Kreg actual has a pretty neat little drawer jig that might help you out as well. I've looked at it a couple times, but still haven't bought it, just figured I've lived this long without it doing drawers will continue on without it.....I do like the nice ball bearing drawer slides from AccuRide you can get at a few places.....A bit more expensive than others, but they glide so perfectly and have tons of adjustment built into the slide to make the final adjustments super easy........
