Do you have a tank diary thread?
Actually I don't. lol Things have been so hectic around here I guess I never really thought about putting one up. My husband is in the Army and is currently in Iraq and I have 4 kids here with me so it never really crossed my mind. Guess now's just as good a time as any to start one.
Loving all the new inhabitants btw!
And the new rockwork looks great. If your nitrates don't go down after everything settles in a few days then do a small water change and that'll help.

Thanks a lot! My nitrates should go down. And just so you know I come from a military family so I am personally very thankful for your husband's service in the Army HOOAH!!
I can't imagine having 4 kids running around and your the only parent home.
I will be joining the Army Airborne once I am done with school, or at least I hope so... I've got some injuries from when I played football that might affect my ability to join, hopefully not though jumping out of airplanes is my idea fun lol.

Well no pics today, sorry. My girlfriend had to use the camera today so I didn't get a chance to take any, but definitely tomorrow. And maybe I will get some new corals too.

Those are blastomussa merleti. I have a piece very similar to yours. They do benefit from occasional feeding of cyclopeez, zooplankton, or mysis. I am curious as to what you paid for it, as I've seen some in LFS's that are charging an arm and a leg. Dont feel inclined to answer that if you dont want to.

No problem, I live in michigan just so you know, I got mine for 40$. I would say the polyps would cover 45% of a baseball. What are they charging you in terms of baseballs
?

I am deffinatly not the formost authority on inverts or anything but that seems like so many crabs. even more so if you still want the pom poms. if they get hungry enough certian crabs ( the emererlds for sureee) will start pickin at the coral.
maybe someone w more experiance can weigh in

I hand feed the biggest crabs in my tank, and I have sufficient algae and shells for all the hermits. So no worries.

I'm not some dummy lol.

The sexys are pretty awesome I would suggest that you get some but I'm not sure how well it would do with the shrimp you've got in there, I can't tell in the night pic is it a cleaner or fire?

I have a tiny cleaner and two peppermint.
I was going to get a pistol shrimp but I will wait and do it when I upgrade to a bigger tank next year.
