Yes it is Montipora and I have fragged off a small 1" by 1" pc. to keep and traded in for store credit the rest of it. I found I needed space. Also fragged off about 4 heads of the Frogspawn and kept it for myself and traded in the rest. Also fragged off some large pcs. of Zoanthids and traded them in keeping a small pc. for myself.
Am opening up some real estate to allow room for the SPS to grow out.
Here is what is left

Here is what it was

Which tank is your purple cap in? Has it kept it's color? What kind of light is it under? What is the Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium level on the tank it is in?

It's in the 225 with the metal halides, yes it is still purple...it gets these little dots (polyps) on it too...Calcium is 450 cause I just tested...alk is on the low side of normal.....I do not know what to do about that...MAG

P.h. is 8.2...temp 78-80
I will say I just noticed a tiny white spot on it yesterday, but I thought maybe something fell on it

Alot of the change was to do something different. Some of it because I had to remove a fish that did not belong in that size tank but I put it in to clean up a Caulerpa problem. The fish, a Foxfafce, Vulpinus Unimaculatus. Everytime I have to remove the Foxface, (I have had 5 of them bought at avout 2 or so inches and removed at 3.5 or so inches) I have to remove all or most of the rockwork to get the fish out. I also went from sand, to barebottom, and back to sand. I have a great LFS that I bought the tank from and most all of my supplies and Nutri Seawater I use. They take anything I bring in and give me 1/2 the sales price they get. I have fragged many coral, returned coral and fish and build up in store credit.
I guess the hobby is about experimenting with different things to me. The last scape I believe will be left to grow out. I may add some more coral but I doubt I will change anything.
