Spanko's change history

I see that you go back and forth from bare bottom to sand, back to bare, how easy is this to do? I'm thinking about adding sand back into my 14G, but don't want to set off a cycle again, I'm not liking the bare bottom so much...

BTLDreef If you want to do that I suggest getting some dry aragonite in the grain size you want, rinsing it real well, and adding it to the tank through a piece of PVC pipe so that you can direct the sand to where you want it to be. Not hard at all. Be aware that you may experience some diatom bloom for a while though.

Meowzer it is an African Flameback Angelfish. Centropyge Acanthops

Thanks for the info!
The diatoms I'm sure will happen. I need to add more cured LR to this tank, so I'm sure between the LR and sand, diatoms are bound to happen.

Definitely a new look for you Henry - not sure I like this one as much as some of your previous set-ups, but it will be interesting to see it grow in.

Howdy Henry - just an FYI - "Big Sky Country" is Montana, Wyoming if "Forever West" or something corny like that ;) I'll take it though since I'm only a little over a hundred miles south of the Montana border. Things here are good - busy as usual over the summer - gotta get back to the tank here soon, which always brings to mind the forums, so I was just checking in to see how folks are doing.

OOPS! Oh well, no harm it's all out west to me. Still doing the fire fighting gig? Getting ready for or already back in school?

Firefighting in full swing - over 100 calls already since January this year. School is back in session, kids were back this week. As always, its getting back into school and seeing the school tanks that gets me out of summer mode and thinking about the tanks again.

You should rename this thread to The Multiple personalities of the Spanko tank! Once again, LOVE IT! Thanks for the heads up of this thread!
