I like this thread! What coral have you had the longest? Do you still have anything from when you originally set the tank up?

thanks for sharing theses Henry... I find it difficult to think that you to had a begining, had to learn things and yes the most impressive, "Can't keep my hands out of the water" comment, oh... also, glad to see your not barebottom anymore. Lol....
Now i think I really want my biocube back. "Woman, git yer stuff out of my tank!! hahahahaha

Thanx for the comments everyone.
Mrs. Kiefers I don't believe I have anything in the tank that I started with way back with the exception of the orange montipora. The tank has been through so many redos, rescapes, biotope this, try that, I have been almost continuoulsy trying new things. When I do I tend to take things back to the LFS for store credit and move on to something else. The critters I have in there now are probably the ones that I have stuck with the longest, as evidenced by the size of the coral now as I purchase only small frags when I do so I can watch them grow.
Kief the BioCube has been really fun. I have done a lot of modifications over the years and am for now happy with the setup. If I were ever to start over I would fabricate an all in one tank from a standard size aquarium, truth be told I have though about doing so with a 75 wide tank, 60" x 24" x 12" from Great Lakes Aquarium but alas I am hooked on the ease, low maintenance cost, and 5 gallon water changes the Biocube affords me.
I know what you are saying about bare bottom
but I did like this iteration of the tank.

Here is another thread on one of the reef mind melds I went through.

What a way to kill half an hour at work. I have read this thread before and am super happy it got updated. I love your tank, and I could look at it for hours.

I just found out about Great Lakes Aquarium on the internets. Then to find out that they are on my drive home from work is awesome. I think I might stop by tonight and check out their show room. If you ever do a 75 wide I think that thing would be beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!

I just went through your "and in the beginning" thread; it was a welcome respite from an angry inbox.
I like the current arrangement best of all.
All those folks that you guys used to know so well...where did they go? Left the hobby, just left this forum or did they simply fade away?

good morning- I see your point with the ease of the cube nonetheless, careing for a 75 would be just as easy as the 29 biocube. Your not going to work any harder than you are now. From my cube to the 56 I still do the 5 gallon w/c + the martini dose .... Lol, and I found that I spent the same amount of time on each tank. (just woke up i hope i'm making sense).
the only issue is the expense of starting over, but with your experience you could wip something up very cheap. give it some more thought Henry I personally think you would love seeting up a new system.

Really?? I did not know that. Their site said that they are just open a few days a week. I am for sure going tonight. No worries on me going overboard. I am looking at getting a 125g for a slow build. So my 29g is prob not going to get any new additions. But I do love to look. Sometimes I go into LFS (kees) and watch their big show tank (1000g) for an hour, then buy like $5.00 worth of food. LOL.
