We are on page 11 squidd is on a different page then us. He's like on page 13 or 14 by now. One day I will see the end and see my tank all together. But on a better note I'm happy about this thread I might have a few headaches but lots of information to learn.

Take a look at this thread (Golfish's tank) to get a "feel" for the plumbing out the back...Some of his stuff is OTT and you can see a bulkhead/elbow coming out the back/center of the tank...
https://www.saltwaterfish.com/vb/show...hreadid=151645
Then yes with carefull measuring and planning, you/Michael should be able to get the pump "tucked" under the stand/over the fuge...
Perhaps, get the 75...build the stand..purchase the pump and make sure everything fits before the "Big" tank arrives...

Very nice set-up.
There is no way I can have the tank 8-10" from the wall. Space being one concern and 2 four legged animals and 3 toddlers. I wouldn't feel safe and it would be an eye sore.
I do have another option that I am working on but it will take me a few days.
We are building a entertaiment center like with our tank. But the side cabinets will have to be removable with via rollers, slides or something. The one side of the cabinets will be for ballasts, (maybe a pump), the other side will have storage for salt, test kits etc.
Give me a few days and I will get back to you.
To answer your other question.
Next month we will be putting the stand and 75 together. The stand will be build around the 75. But if our idea changes then it will change a little but still the same idea. I will only need 1 additional pump correct? Mag drive. Will that run HOT being outside of the water or anything?
I will try and draw up something to show what the stand will look like to give you more of an idea.

That would work great...

The Sedra is for the skimmer...it needs it's own pump to operate...
And then the Mag would be for the return (from the sump to the tank...)
And then we'll talk about a third for the C/L system....
The closed loop pump should be an "external" pump probably not a Mag more like an Iwaki, Sequence, Little Giant or something like that...

Do the mag's run hot or are they pretty stable as far as heat. That will make a decision on if the pump will go inside of the cabinets with the ballasts.

I suggest not using a Mag Drive pump in an external application like the Closed Loop...
But rather a pump designed for external use...
I don't care what the MFG says on his package...:nope:
All pumps produce heat...but you'll be getting more from the fuge lights(if you go MH), then Ballasts, then pump..in that order...

Your "Fuge" is sized at ~ 40 gallons...
And for an "Algal Scrubber" type fuge (malnutrient export through harvesting of Macros)..I have had good results with and suggest 4+ watts per gallon...160 watt or more...
I have run less...and macros will grow...BUT ...you will have massive growth potential with higher wattages..and THAT's what removes the malnutrients..
So a 175 MH or a "pair" of 95 watt VHOs (36") or a pair of 96 watt PCs would be the choices to look at...
I kind of like the "sizing" of a single 175 MH...but you'll need to do the "shopping" to fit your budget...

Thanks I will be looking into lights for that. Also I will be posting my plans for the pumps real soon just finishing the last touches to it........
But now it's dinner time.
Talk to you later

Ok, I figured out what we will do for the stand and cabinets.
We will just build "Length" and not "H" if that makes any sense.
We were going to build the new stand -91"Lx25"Wx36"H.
This is a pic of old plan.

The C/L pump could go in one of the side cabinets that would be a fine place..
But...do both side cabinets "need" to roll away....??
Or could one be somewhat permenent...??
I ask , because once this thing is plumbed in place it's pretty much gona be sitting there..In order to "roll" the cabinet out, you would have to disconnect all the plumbing..??
Which could be done on an "occasional" basis (in fact I reccomend adding shutoffs and unions to be able to remove pump for cleaning)
It just wouldn't be a "quick and easy" roll the cabinet whenever you felt like it kind of thing..

I also kind of like the "look" of the "old" plan, with the taller side cabinets...
If you built them 30" "deep" they would create a 5" "hollow" spot behind the tank which would hide the plumbing from little kids and other "critters"...
Although you would loose the "view" from the side of the tank...
Which is probably why you shortened them..

Scratch those ideas..............
I made a NEW one that I think You will like. Michael's brain is mush tonight from work so I will show him tomorrow.
The cabinets will be permenate. If I need to access the plumbing I will do it from the left side. Reason being why the Right side will have the cabinets it serves 2 purposes. 1: Light from the front door to keep alage down. 2: So I can access the back of the tank if need be from the left side. This will be built all in one. Tell me what you think?

Sorry forgot to mention that the outside measurments of the stand will be.
91"Lx25"Wx71"H
Stand (The tank will sit on and under will fit sump/fuge)
51"x25"x36"
Lower Cabinets will be 20"x25"x36"
Higher Cabinets will be 20"x25"x25"
Canopy will be 91"x25"x10"
