Bang Guy, that's a really great idea. I will use this method when I raise the salinity on my next round of fish.

I probably won't get around to putting the fish in the DT until tomorrow. I am pretty beat from traveling but I would still like to get a water change and maintenance done on the DT tonight.

Did a 30 gallon w/c last night and the fish are getting acclimated right now

Nitrates were creeping up on me. I've been feeding the DT regularly without any w/c for a while so I'm hoping that the w/c will help reduce the algae in the DT.

For some reason the site won't let me add multiple images to one post so I can't provide a comparison shot from when I was acclimating the fish to the QT. Either way, here they are today. I figure it might be a while before I can get all three of them in the same picture.

It will all start to level off and the algae will go away with time... I'm sure the tangs will have a lot to do with that as well.

So, a second round of fish, hmm? Well, not a lot of people put tangs in first...

I'd say a variety of wrasses... I love fairy wrasses, and a lot of them are reef safe. Pick some fish with different "jobs."

For example,...

neon gobies (cleaning stations)
Yellow watchman gobies ( sandbed maintenance.)
barnicle blenny ( mop up extra food.)

I'm personally start looking into inverts as well...

black brittle stars, shrimps, snails, etc.

Wrasses, eh? To be honest, I've never really considered a wrasse.

I wonder how bad wrasses are toward shrimp. I have 5 peppermint shrimp and plan on getting two cleaner shrimp. Same for a flame hawkfish. Anyone with experience?

You need a blue hippo tang, some pajama cardinals, a couple neon gobies, a couple yellow watchman gobies, a shrimp/goby pair, a couple of fairy wrasse pairs and something red... hmmm....

lol, throwing some ideas out there. Though, I am jealous of your schooling tangs. :D

I really want to have a lot of life on the rocks: emerald crabs, peppermint and cleaner shrimp, snails, etc. so I don't want to get fish that will go after the shrimp. That really limits the selection. I will get a mandarin sooner or later, but I really can't think of any other fish that I "need" to have. I don't want to get a fish just to get a fish, you know?
